THROUGH THE MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT, 500 SUMMER
WORKERS FROM THE GOVERNMENT’S YOUTH SUMMER EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMME (YSEP) WILL
ASSIST THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR AND SOCIAL SECURITY (MLSS) AND THE OFFICE OF
DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT (ODPEM).

PRIME MINISTER HOLNESS MADE THIS ANNOUNCEMENT DURING TODAY’S (JULY 16) SITTING
OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

200 OF THESE SUMMER WORKERS WILL SUPPORT THE MLSS WITH COMMUNITY RELIEF EFFORTS,
WHILE THE REMAINING 300 WILL WORK TO EXPEDITE THE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT PROCESS.

THE YSEP WORKERS WILL BEGIN THEIR FIELDWORK ON MONDAY, JULY 22.

to repair roads under the Shared Prosperity Through Accelerated Improvement to
our Road Network (SPARK) (@SPARK) Programme. The Prime Minister stated that the

billion budget under the programme set for roads has been designated for
