Written by Express News Service Chandigarh | April 13, 2013 02:37 IST Follow Us * * * * The Deputy Commissioner Panchkula,Ashwin Shenvi,today issued prohibitory orders banning the assembly of five or more persons within the area of 200 meters around the examination centers in Panchkula district for the HCS and other allied services main examination conducted by Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) from 13 April to 24 April. To check copying the police also ordered that the shopkeepers will’nt operate their photostat machines during examination time in the sectors where the examination centers are located and also banned the carrying of weapons of offence within 500 meters around all the examination centers. Twelve examination centers have been designated. The order read that in the exercise of powers conferred under section 144 of code of criminal procedure,1973,the prohibition is being enforced. The orders shall however not apply on the police and other public servants on duty and on the private security guards deployed at banks,jewelery shops and other commercial establishments,provided that these guards will carry arms openly only in front of or within the premises of their bank,jewelery shop or commercial establishment. Moreover,the private security guards can only transport weapon from their residence to the bank and jewelery shop or any commercial establishment and during the transportation the weapon has to be covered completely by an opaque box,cloth or bag,” the order read. As per the order,no candidate will carry any electronic device like mobile or bluetooth,pager,pen scanner or pen drive to the examination center.
