A terrifying video shows a missile strike wiping out hundreds of Russian
soldiers gathered on a beach in occupied Ukraine.

The troops were on occupied Dzharylhach Island in the Kherson region and drone
footage shows infantry troops training in separate groups.

They possibly believe they were too far from the frontline to be hit - but a
large explosion is seen where the forces were gathered.

‌Ukrainian sources say five devastating HIMARS strikes were carried out after
tips from local “underground” sources in the occupied territory. If so, it
indicates pro-Kyiv informers are becoming an increasing problem for Vladimir
Putin’s repressive regimes in regions of Ukraine he currently controls.

‌Russian sources accept their forces were hit with pro-war Moscow channel Rybar
saying it was “a new vivid illustration of the fact that allowing large
gatherings of people even in the near-rear - at a distance from the combat zone
- can have bad consequences”.

The National Resistance Centre in Ukraine said: “Thanks to the information
provided by the underground in the temporarily occupied territory, dozens of
invaders and enemy equipment were destroyed.”

Media reports in Ukraine put the toll higher, at around 200, according to the
Kyiv Post.‌ The beach location is some 50 miles from the nearest Ukrainian-held
territory.

Russia was believed to have established camps on Dzharylhach Island where troops
from degraded units were sent to recover and train. The island is off the
northwest coastline of Putin-annexed Crimea.

A post by Rybar said: "The soldiers are engaged in combat training, but in one
of the frames hit the formation of personnel. “Some time later, the AFU struck
there from MLRS HIMARS. “Most likely, the servicemen on the island relaxed a bit
because of the feeling of imaginary safety: the front line is 80 kilometres
away, the terrain is inconspicuous, there are no tents in a clear field or
warehouses with ammunition.

“But the enemy took advantage of such recklessness. Let's be realistic: it will
not be possible to avoid absolutely all crowds of people in the rear, and it may
not always be possible in principle.” The gathering of troops in the open was
too obvious.

“Let this video be a memo to Russian servicemen with a clear reminder that even
in the rear, it is worth observing the necessary precautions.” In a separate
incident, a missile strike is believed to have hit Hvardiiske - or Gvardeyskoye
- in Crimea. It is the site of an airfield used by Putin’s invading forces as a
military base.

A huge explosion was seen at the site. Russian sources claimed there was little
damage, but there was no independent confirmation. There was speculation that a
converted S-200 ballistic missile or the Grom-2 OTRK could have been used. But
it was also claimed the strike was by Storm Shadow, a pinpoint missile supplied
to Ukraine by Britain and later France.

Earlier footage shows fragments of a Storm Shadow shot down by Russian air
defences in Crimea, confirming their use against targets in the annexed
peninsula. This comes amid signs that the rail section of the £3 billion Crimean
Bridge has been damaged - like the road section.

Nature is ruthless and equally as mesmerizing.

Exhibit 1: this bald eagle coming in hot and drowning a whitetail fawn

According to MeatEater, the video was captured at Lake Noquebay in Marinette
County, Wisconsin. You know, up there past Green Bay.

A professor of conservation at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, told
MeatEater contributor Pat Durkin that this eagle most likely has attacked fawns
before

“Birds of prey learn quickly. In falconry, falconers often encourage their birds
to go after prey that’s a little bit bigger and more difficult to capture in the
wild.

Once they learn how to do it, they’ll keep doing it.”

We can see a young whitetail fawn swimming in the shallow shoreline waters of
the lake when a bald eagle drops in and lands right on its back. With its sharp
talons piercing the back of the helpless fawn, the eagle pushes it deeper into
the water, drowning its next meal.

After the eagle drowned the fawn and dragged it to shore, it came back to chow
down over the next few days… until there was nothing left.

Just a little bit of hair left on that fawn.

‘Merica… gotta eat.

Bald eagles are majestic creatures with talons that will rip you to shreds.

That wingspan can also reach 7.5 feet…

BALD EAGLE STEALS A FISH STRAIGHT FROM THE HOOK

Anybody that likes to fish has experienced “the one that got away.”

A fish that hits the lure hard and fights tough but ultimately never winds up in
the net, hauled ashore, or pulled into the boat. Sometimes the line breaks,
sometimes the hook slides out of its mouth, and sometimes a bald eagle swoops
down, grabs the fish with its talons, and flies off into the wind to eat your
fish.

Getting robbed by a bald eagle is exactly what happened to a fly fisherman near
Sitka, Alaska, earlier this summer. The angler was reeling in an Arctic char on
a picturesque wilderness stream when a bald eagle swooped down from the trees,
snatched the char, and took off for the sky.

The guy holding the rod could do nothing but stand there in awe as the line
unspooled rapidly off of the reel. The eagle eventually ripped the fish right
off the hook, and the fisherman found some solace in the fact that the eagle
ripped the fish clean off the hook, so at least it didn’t steal his fly too.

His disbelief at what he was witnessing is exhibited perfectly exhibited by his
colorful language. I imagine losing the fish is worth capturing incredible
footage like this on camera.

Bald eagles are more prevalent in Alaska than anywhere else in the world.
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the state is home to an
estimated 30,000 of the birds.

While the bald eagle has been the national emblem of the United States since
1782, the species has been a spiritual symbol for Alaska Natives for far longer
than that.

Eagles are primarily fish eaters, and Alaska’s widespread waterways and
world-class fisheries offer excellent habitat and provide abundant food sources
for the birds, which is why the state is home to such robust eagle populations.
