WHAT CLUES WERE IN THE EMAIL?

THAT LINK COULD HAVE BEEN MALICIOUS

Phishing emails encourage you to click links, provide sensitive information, or
download attachments. When suspicious emails make it through our defenses, we
rely on you as our last line of defense. Therefore, it’s vital that you
correctly identify and report suspicious emails as potential threats.

Cybercriminals target human resources departments for financial gain and to
access confidential data. They often impersonate executives, company
communications and mimic business applications.

We recommend that you slow down and examine emails closely before taking action.

WHAT TO WATCH OUT FOR

 * Marked EXTERNAL - You must be 100% certain an external email is legitimate
   before interacting with it.
 * Email Details – If the email’s timing or relevance to you, your job, or
current events seem legitimate, you may not question it. Just because it
seems legitimate doesn’t mean it is.
 * Email address – Look at the senders' details. Never trust a ‘friendly name’
in front of an address as it can be anything a criminal chooses. All internal
Human Resources communications will come from human.resources@enbridge.com
 * Unusual language and tone
 * Links – Always hover over the links before clicking. If the address does not
match the one you know or expect, do not click.
