DATA SHARING FOR CHILD WELFARE AGENCIES AND MEDICAID TOOLKIT Medicaid.gov sent this bulletin at 01/24/2022 04:37 PM EST View in browser | Distributed by Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) On January 20, 2022, the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families published the Data Sharing for Child Welfare Agencies and Medicaid Toolkit that was produced in cooperation with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Timely and effective data sharing provided within the parameters of federal law helps to ensure this vulnerable population of children and youth receive the health care services and care coordination they need. This toolkit outlines the benefits of data sharing and provides technical assistance without adding new requirements. This joint release explains the business case for sharing data between state Child Welfare (Title IV-E) and Medicaid agencies. It also provides technical assistance regarding data exchange models, legal frameworks for sharing and accessing relevant data, potential categories of data that state agencies may share, and discusses the process of how some states have developed interagency agreements to support this type of exchange. * Learn more here: https://www.acf.hhs.gov/sites/default/files/documents/cb/data-sharing-and-medicaid-toolkit.pdf -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay connected with Medicaid.gov and CMS: Modify/Update Subscriber Preferences | Unsubscribe | Contact Us Questions or problems?
