BANDON DUNES SET TO HOST THIS NATIONAL EVENT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 2026

Bandon Dunes

Stephen Szurlej

Bandon Dunes Golf Resort will host another national championship.

The PGA of America announced Tuesday that the Oregon resort will host the 2026
PGA Professional Championship, a 72-hole event that will be on both the Bandon
Dunes and Pacific Dunes courses. It’s scheduled for 26-29, 2026.

The event is the national championship for PGA of America golf professionals in
the United States and has been played since 1968. The field will consist of
312-players made up of the top 20 players and ties from the 2025 championship as
well as players qualifying through 41 PGA Section Championships.

As is the custom, the top 20 participants from the championship will earn a spot
in the 2026 PGA Championship, which will be held at Aronimink Golf Club in
Pennsylvania.

Courses

“The PGA of America is proud to take the PGA Professional Championship to one of
the elite golf destinations in North America,” said PGA of America president
John Lindert, the director of golf at the Country Club of Lansing (Mich.)."The
PGA Professional Championship presents an elevated platform to display the
skills of our talented playing professionals. Both Bandon Dunes and Pacific
Dunes will offer exceptional challenges for all competitors."

Bandon Dunes, designed by David McLay Kidd, opened in 1999 and is located on a
bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Pacific Dunes, designed by Tom Doak, was
the resort’s second course and opened in 2001.

Pacific Dunes' 11th hole.

“To host the PGA Professional Championship just feels right,” said Chris Keiser,
partner at Dream Golf, the parent company that owns Bandon Dunes. “PGA
Professionals have been such a key to the success of Bandon Dunes. They saw
something here and shared it with their members and their fellow professionals.
We are proud of the 16 Class A PGA Professionals—including two Master
Professionals—and 18 PGA Associates we employ at Bandon and Sand Valley, and the
many PGA interns who have been a part of Dream Golf. PGA Professionals keep this
game going. We can’t wait to see them compete at Bandon Dunes.”

Bandon Dunes is championship tested, having hosted eight USGA championships,
starting with the 2006 Curtis Cup. The most recent USGA event was the 2022 U.S.
Junior, where Wenyi Ding topped Caleb Surratt in the championship match. Ding
just won the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship two weeks ago in Japan. Surratt
played on the LIV Golf circuit this year, finished 41st on the season’s
individual standings and did not record a top-10 finish.

The USGA has already announced that 12 more championships will be coming to
Bandon Dunes. The U.S. Women’s Amateur will be played there in 2025 and
championships will be held as far out as 2045, where the U.S. Girls’ Junior and
U.S. Junior will both be contested.

Ben Polland, from Jackson, Wyo., won this year’s PGA Professional Championship
by three shots over New York’s Andy Svoboda at Fields Ranch in Frisco, Texas.
Polland shot a second-round 69 at the PGA Championship at Valhalla to miss the
cut by one shot.

The 2025 PGA National Championship will be at PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie,
Fla., April 27-30.
