Hungry? This Is The Best All You Can Eat Buffet in Indiana

HUNGRY? THIS IS THE BEST ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET IN INDIANA

Check out the best all-you-can-eat buffet in the entire Hoosier State the next
time you're hungry.

A POST-PANDEMIC RESURRECTION OF ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BUFFETS

During the pandemic, many businesses had to close their doors and shutter their
operations, and all-you-can-eat buffets across the country found themselves in
the same boat. The serving stations were empty and the doors were closed.
Post-pandemic has fortunately seen a resurrection of the all-you-can-eat buffet.

THE ORIGINS OF THE ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT BUFFET

While the idea of an all-you-can-eat spread has its origins in Sweden with what
was once called a "smörgåsbord," which was introduced in America during the 1939
World's Fair. It was later, in the 1940s, before Las Vegas became the bustling
mecca of decadence that we now know when a hungry employee of the El
Rancho Vegas spawned what later would become the all-you-can-eat buffet
experience we have come to love.

...El Rancho Vegas launched their all-you-can-eat-dinner 24-hour spread, the
"Buckaroo Buffet," costing customers only a dollar. The casino lost money on its
buffet (for the most part, they still do), but profits weren't the point. The
whole objective was to keep patrons inside and gambling as long as possible.
-FoodAndWine.com

NOT ALL BUFFETS ARE CREATED EQUAL

There is no doubt that when you're hungry and you really want to eat, there is
nothing like bellying up to an all-you-can-eat buffet. Of course, everything
from the quality of the food to the cleanliness of the restaurant plays into the
overall buffet experience and we can all agree that not every all-you-can-eat
buffet is created equal.

BEST BUFFET IN INDIANA

When it comes to the best of the best buffets, there is one restaurant in
Indiana that is better than the rest and you will find it located in Southern
Indiana in Martin County. Nestled in the small town of Loogoottee [it's
pronounced luh-GO-dee], home to just over 2,600 people, and sitting alongside
West Boggs Lake is where you will find Stoll's Lakeview.

An unlimited supply of Amish comfort food makes for a smashing success, and the
buffet is the #1-rated restaurant in Loogootee on Tripadvisor. While the
proprietors aren't afraid to embrace modern technology to keep the buffet
running, the unique restaurant hasn't been redecorated since the 1980s. For
decades, it's been serving the same fried chicken and continuing to enjoy
success. - Mashed.com

Stoll's Lakeview serves up a delicious buffet daily with the best in Amish
comfort foods like fried chicken, meatloaf, BBQ ribs, catfish fiddlers, and
more. There is no shortage of mashed potatoes, gravy, or green beans either. You
can see an old promo video for the buffet below.

MORE THAN A BUFFET

In addition to the spectacular lunch and dinner buffets, which change daily,
they also serve up a breakfast buffet on Fridays and Saturdays and they have a
full menu of classics like breaded tenderloins and roast beef Manhattans. Of
course, you have not lived until you have eaten an Amish-made dessert.

MORE TO DO IN LOOGOOTEE

Now that you know how to pronounce it, and you know where to go to get a
delicious Amish meal, there are some other great places to visit in Loogootee
while you're there. Nearby West Park Boggs Park offers something special for
those who enjoy outdoor activities.

The park features a variety of amenities, including a beach and swimming area,
fishing and boating opportunities, miniature golf course, hiking and biking
trails, and a variety of picnic areas. In addition to these activities, the park
also offers rental facilities, including cabins and campsites, making it a great
destination for overnight stays. - City of Loogootee

No doubt you can have a full adventure and a full belly when you visit
Loogoottee, Indiana.
