Planted in 1872, this gorgeous tea garden spreads out over 494 hectares.
Situated in the idyllic Mirik region, very close to the Nepalese border, the
garden enjoys panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga and is laced with rivers and
rivulets - Mechi river to the North and Rangbang river to the South marking its
boundaries. Thurbo tea estate has a reputation for manufacturing some of the
best Darjeeling teas. This year's batch is unforgettable. As you begin sipping,
sweet fruity notes arrive with hints of peach towards the middle. Subtle zesty
tones with a hint of guava arrive towards the end, making it a unique cup of
first flush 2021.

TASTE

A medium-bodied, brisk cup which starts with sweet, fruity notes similar to
honeydew melon which renders an unique texture on the palate. A nuanced
undercurrent of peach is discernible towards the middle which gradually gives
way to furtive floral nuances which come in around the edges, adding more depth
and robust character to the liquor. Subtle zesty tones come through towards the
finish, which however ebb to finish on delicious guava-like flavors, which
lingers on making for a distinguished finish.

I am a coffee guy adjusting to tea so my opinion is tainted. The tea is tasty as
I trust all teas from that region. You greatest product is your customer

This tea does not want to be pinned down. Aroma is vegetal, perhaps something
between parsley, alfalfa, and hay - very present but difficult to pull out a
single profile. Taste is only slightly bitter and slightly sweet. Flavor is very
strong. The recommended tea:water:time ratio is too strong for me, but I am
having a difficult time dialing in what a perfect ratio for me would be. It is a
medium/light-bodied tea, so if you don't have enough tea leaves it is weak, but
too much and it kicks. Flavor is a little mossy, musty. Slight bit of wood in
there. I get none of the delicate nut or spice (which I know is there, just have
to find it), I do get a little floral on the breath afterwards which lands it as
a Darjeeling. I picked up no hint of melon, however when you add sugar and lemon
together the melon pops right out and makes for an amazing tea experience. A
well crafted tea.

This tea is as advertised. The leaves are larger, looser and well defined. I
definitely got the lily scent upon brewing. The first sip I tasted a slight
melon musk, followed by a strong vegetal flavor. Vegetal in that it is earth,
deep, but not reminiscent of any one vegetable! This is a very good, light tea,
with a slight bitter bite at the end. Very good but not a number 1 in my book.

I realy like this lovely fresh light tea. Since i don't like to drink plain tea
I added sugar and milk and it was perfect for me. Because of tea lightness you
can drink it anytime.

I found this a milder, softer tea, with a different aroma and more of a floral
taste. I thought that the taste description on the package got it right. I
actually quite like an assertive, intense flavor most of the time, so this was
probably not my favorite in the initial selection, but it still very pleasant.
