Today is a good day for European citizens, tax justice, and fair competition.

In its final judgment, @Curia has confirmed our 2016 decision that Ireland
granted illegal aid to Apple, requiring the release of up to 13 billion euros in
unpaid taxes.

The court has also upheld our decision against Google for abusing its dominant
position by favouring its own comparison shopping service and the resulting €2.4
billion fine.

You may know him as the author of 500 math papers, endlessly traveling and
collaborating. But to the FBI he seemed suspicious, because he came from behind
the Iron Curtain, got caught poking around a secret radio tower in 1941, worked
with a mathematician from China, and refused to take a loyalty oath. </p><p>In
1954 he was barred from re-entering US after going to Amsterdam to address the
International Congress of Mathematics. But 5 years later he was granted a visa
after Hubert Humphrey intervened on his behalf.</p><p>The FBI eventually decided
he was ”purely a mathematician with typical atmospheric mind as related to

Guinan<p>Hey fediverse,</p><p>It has been one hell of a month for me. I went
through several mental realizations and came out of the other end an even better
person than I was.</p><p>While in this process, I was harassed by racists for
days on end for calling them out on their racist harassment of POC on the
fediverse.</p><p>All of this costs: time, money, energy. Y'all can help with one
of these.</p><p>I am doing a fundraiser to raise at least USD$1000/month as a
monthly stipend for me to pay for self-care things like - haircuts, therapy,
nice food and drinks. </p><p>This money is also a minimal compensation for the
work I do for Ten Forward and the fediverse every day and have since 2017.
</p><p>Additionally, I'll hopefully be starting therapy soon in October or
November and that will cost me a lot over time and I ask for y'all
