DONELSON-HERMITAGE FAMILY YMCA * Select a Branch * Admin * Sports & Programs * Alert SignUp * Locations * Parents & Fans * Coach’s Corner * Upcoming Sports * Contact 2013/2014 COED | 2023 FALL SOCCER ANNOUNCEMENTS * FALL SOCCER INFO If your team name is listed as COACH NEEDED we are still in need of a volunteer coach for your child's team. All of our teams are coached by volunteers who choose the night and time of their team's practice, so until a coach is placed with those teams we will not have practices scheduled. If you or anyone in your circle of influence would be interested in volunteering to coach please let us know! Players will need a soccer ball and water bottle for practices. Parents are required to remain on site during all practices and games. Below is a list of additional items you may need, and key dates for the season • Size 3 ball (2020-2015) • Size 4 ball (2013-2014) • Cleats are highly recommended, but not required (no cleats with toe stud). • Shin guards must be worn during all games. Key Dates: • First Practice: Week of August 14 on team's assigned night and time • Academy Sports Discount Weekend August 10-12 (Coupon can be found in announcements on YGametime) • First Game: August 26 (Game Schedule Will be on YGametime by 8/18) • Picture Date: September 16 • Labor Day Weekend: No Games 9/2 • Fall Break: No Practices 10/9-10/13. No games 10/14 Field Maps can be found in the announcements on Ygametime.com Uniforms will be available for purchase during practices from YMCA staff at the pavilion adjacent to fields 4-5. Purchases can be made by Debit/Credit Card ONLY. Each player must wear a YMCA jersey. If you have a uniform from a previous YMCA soccer season you will not need to purchase a new one. Game Schedules will be available no later than August 19 on YGametime. For jerseys Home is Gray | Away is Red. The team listed first on the schedule is home, and the team listed second is away. We are honored to serve you by teaching your child fundamentals, and hopefully getting them excited about playing in the future. Please read this email in its entirety as there is important information regarding the classes. What to Bring: • Each player will need their own Soccer or Basketball (size 3 for soccer. Size 27.5 for basketball) • • Water/Gatorade etc. It will be hot this Summer, so we need to keep our young athletes hydrated. We will take frequent breaks to ensure everyone stays cool. • • For soccer classes shin guards and cleats are recommended, but not required. (No football/baseball cleats) • • For Basketball classes please make sure your child I wearing gymnasium appropriate shoes We will focus on games and drills that teach fundamentals. Our staff will be organizing and teaching the classes each week; however, if you would like to help at any point, feel free to jump in and join them in the drills.
