JOE BIDEN WAS EVACUATED FROM THE COP26 GLASGOW SUMMIT BEFORE DELIVERING A SPEECH
ON METHANE STRATEGY.

The President was rushed from the meeting by his secret service detail after an
alarm was sounded. In one video on social media, large numbers of people can be
seen being held back by security officials at the summit. The President had been
in a meeting room with Leonardo DiCaprio and Jeff Bezos before being escorted
out.

John Glover from the Scottish Business Insider said: "Chaos at COP26. POTUS
seems to have been evacuated after entering Methane Pledge.

"DiCaprio and what appears to be with Bezos are inside the room.



"Bull horn out telling crowds to disperse after crowds pushed through. Chaos."



Paris Hashempour also posted a video on social media showing the scenes at the
summit.

She said: "So disorganised at COP26!

"Waiting to get into methane pledge session hosted by US but it's absolute
bedlam.

"Biden was hustled off by secret services, unsure if he's coming back in."

It is unclear what caused the alarm to be sounded.

The President is escorted by his secrete service to all trips.

The area around the host venue, Glasgow's SEC, is classified as a United Nations
"blue zone".

This classifies it as neutral territory while the UN will have its own armed
personnel in the area. 

A heavy police presence will surround the remaining area of the venue and city
throughout the summit.

Despite the incident, Mr Biden did indeed go on to make his speech regarding
methane reduction. 

Under the Methane Emissions Reduction Action Plan, states will look to reduce
methane emissions by 30 percent. 

The new plan will aim to reach a reduction of 30 percent by 2030. 

In his speech, the US President said: "Together we are committing to
collectively reduce our methane by 30% by 2030, and I think we could probably go
beyond that.







"Today it's approaching 100 countries that are signing on.

"That's nearly half the global methane emissions.

Mr Biden said this would not only help fight climate change but also improve
