FCM gets results because we bring together thousands of municipalities from
coast-to-coast-coast. Every one of our members is key to forming the strong and
united national voice that’s securing crucial support for local leaders on the
front lines of COVID-19.
Secured up to $8.6 billion in emergency funding for municipalities through the
federal/provincial/territorial Safe Restart Agreement.
Helped drive $1 billion federal Rapid Housing Initiative, plus an additional
$394.2 million to address homelessness.
Launched the COVID-19 Community Response Fund for Vulnerable Populations, in
collaboration with the Canadian Medical Association Foundation.
Brought rural realties to Canada’s pandemic response—securing an expanded $1.75
billion Universal Broadband Fund.
Coordinated frontline response efforts and shared local expertise through
regular teleconferences with municipal leaders and staff.

Led unprecedented engagement with senior federal decision-makers, including the
Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Finance Minister.
