She provides counsel and representation to individuals and entities in all facets of the music industry with legal aspects of their musical careers, including contracting, copyright and trademark registration, licensing, and business formation. Cassandra is also an Adjunct Professor in the Music Business Department at New Jersey City University and previously taught Business Law at Parsons School of Design. Cassandra is a magna cum laude graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law with a concentration in Intellectual Property/Entertainment Law, a graduate of the Southwestern Law School International Entertainment Law/Comparative Media Law program, and has a graduate degree in Music Business from New York University. Prior to attending law school, Cassandra worked at several independent record labels, a booking agency for musical artists, and in music retail. Cassandra has also been an independent artist herself for more than 25 years, which gives her the unique ability to relate to both the talent and business perspectives of music industry transactions. She has been involved in the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City DIY music scenes and understands firsthand the challenges facing creators and companies attempting to navigate the often-present power imbalance of the music industry.
