BLACKSKY'S FIRST TO KNOW INSIGHTS

 * Artemis Launch
   
   This week, NASA – National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Orion
   spacecraft has been sending back stellar images of the Moon. BlackSky imagery
   captured the view of the SLS rocket 2 days before launch of the Artemis I
   mission, as well as a nighttime image of 16 minutes before liftoff.

 * Kaifeng Air Base
   
   BlackSky imagery shows activity at the Kaifeng Air Base from July through
   November 2022 – from planes on the runway to demolition to active
   construction.

 * Varreux Fuel Terminal in Haiti
   
   BlackSky imagery shows the blockade of the Varreux fuel terminal in Haiti
   amid its fuel crisis. For deeper analysis, including nighttime imagery

 * Zaphorizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant
   
   BlackSky capabilities give first space-based confirmation that the
   Zaphorizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant cooling systems were partially active
   yesterday afternoon and this morning, as indicated by non-operating spray
   systems to the south and water flow into the cooling pond west of the reactor
   complex. Early morning, low-light, images also show cooling tower lights
   operational.

 * Hurricane Ian
   
   Hurricane Ian, with intense storm surges and rapid flooding, has devasted
   communities across Florida. BlackSky captured imagery showing just a portion
   of the extensive damage in Fort Myers Beach. Our hearts are with all those
   affected by this tragedy.

 * Poyang Lake, Jianxi Province, China
   
   Did you know that Poyang Lake is the largest freshwater lake in China? This
   past summer, the lake saw its lowest water levels in over 70 years. Take a
   look at how BlackSky imagery shows the water level change from 2021 to 2022.

 * Minneapolis, Minnesota
   
   What’s a better way to spend the end of summer than at the state fair? Take a
   look at this BlackSky capture of the Minnesota State Fair after sunset, the
   night of the Diana Ross performance.

 * Black Rock City, Nevada, USA
   
   Enter Sandman! BlackSky captured imagery of 35 mph winds causing a sandstorm

 * The OS35 Bulk Carrier and ADAM LNG Gas Tanker Collision
   
   The OS35 bulk carrier and ADAM LNG gas tanker collided off of the coast of
   Gibraltar yesterday. This morning, BlackSky captured imagery showing the
   half-submerged bulk carrier surrounded by support vessels.

 * Baghdad, Iraq
   
   BlackSky imagery captured protesters in Baghdad breaching the Green Zone on
   August 30th, after cleric Muqtada al-Sadr announced his resignation from
   politics. 

 * Kavachi Volcano, Solomon Islands
   
   This isn’t Sharknado… it’s Sharkano.
   Also known as the Kavachi Submarine Volcano, it’s named for the species of
   shark that lives in the area. The volcano has been erupting since October
   2021 and is one of the most active volcanoes in the Pacific. Take a look at
   the BlackSky imagery of volcanic eruptions from June through July this year.

 * Bay of Fundy, New Brunswick, Canada
   
   Did you know that the tide rises up to 14 meters, or 46 feet, every day at
   the Bay of Fundy? With BlackSky’s rapid revisit constellation, we’re able to
   capture these tidal changes within a matter of hours.

 * Tour De France 2022
   
   Look at them go! BlackSky captured the finish line as well as multiple route
   loops on the last day of Tour De France 2022.

 * Matanzas Super Tanker Base in Cuba
   
   BlackSky captured imagery of the Matanzas Super Tanker Base in Cuba before,
   during, and after the fire last week – showing the thick smoke plumes and
   extensive damage. Our hearts are with all those affected by this tragedy.

 * NASA Artemis1 Mission
   
   Ready for liftoff! Take a look at the SLS rocket and Orion spacecraft rollout
   onto the launchpad for the NASA – National Aeronautics and Space
   Administration Artemis1 mission.

 * Nazca Lines, Southern Peru, South America
   
   Did you know that the Nazca Lines are believed to be 2,000+ years old? With
   BlackSky imagery, we can survey archaeological sites without disturbing or
   damaging them.

 * Lake Mead
   
   Rain, rain, don’t go away – Lake Mead needs you! Take a look at our analysis
   of the 2021 drought water level, compared to levels as of June 28.

 * Barcelona, Spain
   
   Dawn-to-dusk analytics and imagery captured on April 18, 2022, over Josep
   Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, Spain, showcase new aircraft type
   classification, one of many new features recently released as part of
   BlackSky’s Enhanced Site Monitoring capabilities. The combination of new
   analytics and imaging features with automated anomaly alerts and high-revisit
   imaging provides customers with deeper insights into operational fleet
   trends.

 * Port of Gladstone, Australia
   
   Following the successful launch with Rocket Lab Saturday, BlackSky’s two new
   satellites delivered first insights in a company record of less than 12 hours
   after launch over Port of Gladstone, Australia.

 * Korczowa-Krakovets Border
   
   Dawn-to-dusk series of images collected over the Korczowa-Krakovets border
   shows the progressive increase of bus traffic leaving Ukraine over a
   nine-hour period on March 17, 2022.

 * PORT ELIZABETH, SOUTH AFRICA
   
   Three images were collected in rapid succession over Port Elizabeth, South
   Africa, on August 10, 2020, at 11:31 a.m. local time. By analyzing these
   images, BlackSky is able to extract critical economic and financial
   indicators to offer a near real-time view of commercial activity in Port
   Elizabeth.

 * North Jeddah, Saudi Arabia
   
   BlackSky image captured March 27, 2022 5:10pm local (UTC+3) following
   Houthi-claimed attack on Aramco petroleum storage site in north Jeddah, Saudi
   Arabia.

 * Seven Collects in Seven Hours
   
 * Irpine, Ukraine
   
   BlackSky image captured over Irpin, Ukraine at 9:50am local (UTC+2) today
   shows extensive damage to residential areas just south of the Bucha River and
   University of the State Fiscal Service.

   and tracked over 200 events surrounding Port Hedland in the past twelve

   BlackSky completed a joint pilot project with @PalantirTech that integrated

 * HANEDA AIRPORT, TOKYO
   
   Using high-revisit satellite imagery, BlackSky’s Spectra AI has detected the
   utilization of major facilities at Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. Parking spaces
   shown in green are rarely used, while red indicates frequent occupancy.
   BlackSky customers can also understand inflow/outflow of cargo and monitor
   airline maintenance activity.

 * PERTH, AUSTRALIA
   
   BlackSky’s Spectra AI combines the power of high-resolution satellite imagery
