The Centers for Advanced ENT Care (CAdENT) are a group of over 60 board
certified ear, nose and throat physicians, plastic surgeons, allergists and
hearing specialists with independent practices along the Mid Atlantic coast.

HEARING

Hearing loss is the third most common health problem in the U.S. — impacting
about 48 million Americans.

Everyone loses some hearing as a natural result of the aging process but hearing
loss can also be caused by a number of issues. Anything from obstructions like
ear wax or fluid from an ear infection to more serious conditions like tumors,
autoimmune disorders and diabetes can all cause hearing loss.

Continued exposure to loud noises and some medications can also cause a loss of
hearing.

OTOLOGY

Did you know our ears are equipped with the smallest bones in the body?

Otology is the branch of medicine that is focused on our ears. From the most
common complications like wax impaction to rare ear conditions like Meniere’s
disease, we can treat a whole host of ear conditions. 

If you have problems with balance, have trouble hearing or experience pain in
your ears you should schedule a visit with a specialist.

HEAD AND NECK

In the U.S., a new head and neck cancer case is diagnosed every 10 minutes.

Head and neck cancers are usually found inside the mouth, nose and throat. It
most commonly occurs in the squamous cells that line the mucosal surfaces in
these areas. This type of cancer can also begin in the salivary glands but it is
relatively uncommon.

The most common cause of head and neck cancer is alcohol and tobacco use. People
who use both pose a much greater risk of developing head and neck cancer. Other
risk factors include certain types of HPV virus, poor oral health and exposure
to radiation.

SINUS/SKULL BASE

More than 30 million people are diagnosed with sinusitis each year.

Sinus conditions can cause headaches, facial pain, breathing problems, a
diminished sense of smell and more. The pain caused by nasal and sinus issues
can be very debilitating. Sometime these symptoms can be difficult to control
with medication alone.

Our ENT specialists and sinus surgeons are skilled in accurately diagnosing and
treating the full range of disorders that can affect the sinuses.

VOICE

An estimated 17.9 million U.S. adults ages 18 or older, or 7.6%, report having
had a problem with their voice in the past 12 months. 

Voice problems can be a symptom of a number of conditions. They are associated
with common causes like reflux and acute laryngitis, and more serious problems
like vocal cord paralysis and laryngeal cancer. As such, any voice change that
persists longer than two weeks should be evaluated by one of our expert
laryngologists.

Snoring is the primary cause of sleep disruption for approximately 90 million
American adults. 

Sleep is critical to our overall health and performance. And many of us have
conditions that impact the quality of our sleep. Although snoring is a primary

ALLERGIES

Allergies are the most common health issues affecting children in the U.S.In
2015, 8.2 percent of adults and 8.4 percent of children were diagnosed with hay
fever.

The seasonal “cold” is often an allergic rhinitis. This condition will not
respond to typical cold remedies or antibiotics. Allergic rhinitis or “hay
fever” is typically more common in the spring when pollen counts are highest.
Symptoms range from a mild irritation of the ears, nose and throat to heavy
congestion, cough and fatigue.

In 2017, about ¾ of all plastic surgery’s were cosmetic.

ENT doctors are trained to perform a wide range of plastic surgery’s focused on
the head and neck area. These surgeries range from therapeutic and
reconstructive to cosmetic.
