Through Enbridge Fueling Futures, our energized team of more than 10,000 employees are making their communities stronger. We encourage our employees to actively participate in their communities, and Enbridge Fueling Futures supports them to make an even bigger impact for the causes they care about. Enbridge employees in Canada and the U.S. have access to up to $5,000 in matching funds per year for any combination of hours volunteered, special grants, or funds donated. There are lots of ways our employees can boost their giving, including matching donations, earning funds for organizations they volunteer with, paid time off to volunteer and applying for grants to support projects in their community. In 2019, our employees contributed to more than 1,000 volunteer opportunities, matching gifts, and leadership grants. As a result, nearly 14,000 volunteer hours and more than C$900,000 were provided in support to improve quality of life in our communities. Additionally, championed by Enbridge employees and fueled by matching and personal donations, we raised nearly C$7.8 million for United Way chapters across North America. Through this support, everyone at Enbridge gains a better understanding of our communities and the ways we can work together to make our communities better places to live and tomorrow better than today.
