The main characteristic of Nomex material is to self extinguish. ( FR – Inherently flame retardant – not treated). A REAL LIFE SAVER Live Line Technology , Arc flash suits are light-weight , inherently flame Retardent and will save a persons life against an arc flash. HEAD TO TOE PROTECTION The electrician should always wear total body protection from head to toe, including – Jacket, Trouser, Hood, Glove in a Bag. CARING FOR YOUR GARMENTS Arc flash suits , need to be carefully cleaned. Do not use detergents and excessive hot water when cleaning arc suits. Store them safely in a bag which is provided by Live Line Technology. DUPONT™ NOMEX® FIBRE IS INHERENTLY FLAME-RESISTANT DuPont™ Nomex® fibre is inherently flame-resistant, will not melt or drip, and does not support combustion in the air, thus providing excellent arc flash protection. And because the protection is woven right into Nomex® garments, it cannot wear off of wash out over time. When exposed to the intense heat typical of electric arc, Nomex® fibre carbonises and thickens. This increases the protective barrier between the heat source and the wearer’s skin and helps minimise burn injury.
