The Traffic Red Light Surveillance Camera (TRLSC) and the Auto Speed Radar Camera System (ASRCS), deployed from 1986 and 1994 respectively could only capture black and white images on films. TP officers were deployed at various camera locations to unload and replenish the films on a regular basis. Once back at the office, the films were developed into negatives before being distributed to data processing officers for viewing and verification of the traffic offences. Today, the TRLSC and ASRCS cameras have been replaced by digital cameras that produce high-definition coloured images that are transferred via the 4G network back to the servers for backend processing. The new brightly painted camera poles coupled with warning signages allow motorists to distinguish them from a distance so that they can slow down for the safety of all road users. Photo 4: The Digital Speed Enforcement Camera (DSEC) which was fully commissioned in 2015 uses radar technology and transmits images via the 4G network. #SingaporePoliceHeritage #policeheritagethursdays * 12 SINGAPORE POLICE FORCE 42h Recognising the contributions of our officers and renewing our pledge to serve โ check out the highlights from this yearโs Police Day Parade! ๐ธ๐ฌโค๏ธ https://www.police.gov.sg/Media-Room/Police-Life/2023/06/Police-Day-2023-Celebrating-the-Police-Spirit #spfpolicelife #singaporepoliceforce #safeguardingeveryday #policeday2023 * 2 * 158 SINGAPORE POLICE FORCE 16h TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF KRETA AYER NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICE POST (NPP) The Kreta Ayer NPP will be closed temporarily from 12 June 2023 to 1 September 2023 to undergo maintenance works. Residents may proceed to the nearest NPPs (indicated below) during this period. The fully automated redesigned NPPs provide residents round-the-clock access to automatic police services such as a self-help kiosk to report crime, and a self-service dropbox for returning of found property. The redesigned NPPs will allow police officers to be re-deployed to the ground, to better serve the community. For reporting of non-emergency cases, members of the public can also utilise the electronic Police Centre (ePC) at http://www.police.gov.sg/e-services. Members of the public who require urgent police assistance should call โ999โ immediately.
