IN THE BOX SETUP INSTRUCTIONS Connect each of the eight (8) RP-SMA antennas to the WiFi Pineapple, making sure not to overtighten. Next, connect the power cable to the WiFi Pineapple and plug the cable into an outlet. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION VIA WIFI Using a computer or smartphone, connect to the WiFi Pineapple’s open wireless network, named “Pineapple_XXXX” (where XXXX are the last 4 characters of the device’s MAC address). Once connected to the wireless network, open a web browser to http://172.16.42.1:1471 and follow the on-screen instructions. The setup wizard will prompt you to connect the WiFi Pineapple to a wireless network, from which it will download and install the latest version of the WiFi Pineapple software. This process typically takes about 10 minutes—during which time it is important to keep the device plugged in and powered on. SOFTWARE INSTALLATION VIA ETHERNET If your network provides Internet access by DHCP, the WiFi Pineapple may automatically obtain an IP address and Internet access from your network by attaching it to the WiFi Pineapple’s WAN port with an Ethernet cable (not included). With the WiFi Pineapple connected to the Internet via your network, connect your computer to the WiFi Pineapple’s network. This may be done either by using an Ethernet cable connected between your computer and the WiFi Pineapple’s RJ45 LAN Ethernet port, or by using a USB cable connected between your computer and the WiFi Pineapple’s USB-C LAN Ethernet port. If using the USB-C port, your computer may require driver installation for the ASIX AX88772C USB Ethernet adapter (see https://docs.hak5.org for download). With your computer connected to the WiFi Pineapple LAN, open a web browser to http://172.16.42.1:1471 and follow the on-screen instructions. Software Installation via USB Flash Disk (unattended/headless setup) The WiFi Pineapple may be provisioned “headless”—meaning without interactive attention. This method allows you to install firmware with the settings of your choice, including Cloud C2 provisioning, without connecting it to a computer or smartphone—useful for mass deployments. See the full setup guide for USB Flash Disk provisioning from https://docs.hak5.org FCC STATEMENT This device complies with part 15 of the FCC rules.
