This group will teach how to apply mindfulness-based skills to increase one’s
ability to cope with difficult emotions and daily stressors by using
self-compassion as a coping skill and learning how to live according to one’s
personal values.

The group will teach adults how to use self-compassion to cope with stressors
such as:

 * Life and/or work
 * COVID-19
 * Low self-esteem
 * Perfectionism

This in-person group meets at JFS and is facilitated by Ivy Ickes, LCSW.

Ivy Ickes, LCSW

Ivy Ickes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works as the Senior
Psychotherapist, Intensive Outpatient Program Team Lead and Master’s level
intern supervisor in the BMHS department. She is specialized in
mindfulness-based therapies (primarily Acceptance & Commitment Therapy—ACT,
Cognitive Behavior Therapy—CBT and Dialectical Behavior Therapy—DBT) and uses an
integrated strengths-based approach in her therapeutic practice. Her
professional interests include advocacy, self-compassion, values-based living,
creative emotional expression, mindfulness, and LGBTQ+ equality.
