IODP ANNOUNCEMENTS

General Announcements:

 * Read the press release about Expedition 398 (Hellenic Arc Volcanic Field),
   investigate one of the most volcanically active regions in Europe.
 * Apply today for the ECORD Training Course: The Shipboard Simulation
   Experience, taking place March 13-17, 2023 at the IODP Bremen Core
   Repository. The deadline to apply is January 11, 20223.
 * ESSAC and J-DESC are holding a workshop on the future of scientific ocean
   drilling, with Phase 1 taking place online in January 2023. Scientists from
   the whole international geoscience community are invited to participate.
 * USSSP has delivered Science Mission Requirements to NSF for a globally
   ranging, riserless, U.S. drilling vessel to address the high-priority
   scientific objectives outlined in the 2050 Science Framework.
 * The JOIDES Resolution Facility Board as released Proposed Proposal Guidelines
   for a future U.S. drilling vessel.
 * IODP has been endorsed as part of the first set of Decade Actions of the UN
   Decade of Ocean Science. Learn more about participating in the NSF & the
