BEST KINGDOM RUSH GAME

The player boards (5 total) are stored over on the left. I’m not a minis guy (so
I don’t know minis that well), but I liked them well enough. The minis are held
down by some cardboard inserts to make sure they don’t move much in the box.
There’s still a bunch of stuff under the cartdboard bits: cards, minis, plastic
trays, some clear plastic cards, and player boards: see below. Unfortunately,
the game didn’t come with too many extra plastic bags, so I ended up having to
go find some extra to help me rebox (at the end). I want to say it took be a
good hour or more.

It’ll take you a while to punchout all the tokens. The polyominal tokens are the
basis of the game: you’ll be placing those tokens on tiles to do damage!!
Underneath the books are a bunch of cardboard sheets: there is a lot to punchout
in this game!īelow, you can see the cardboard sheets divided into (a) landscape
(b) spells/powers (c) generic tokens and (d) polyominal tokens. For now, the
base game comes with 10 scenarios. If you end up really liking this game, there
appears to be a ton of content. You’ll note that the map describes ALL the
scenarios in ALL the expansions and base game. There’s even a little map that
shows how the Scenarios unfold (see below). The Scenario book is next in the
box: Kingdom Rush comes with 10 Scenarios in the base game.

defense game for 1-4 people! Hm: I thought it was worth $35 to try this out!! So
I grabbed some birthday and Christmas presents for my friends (yes, I get a lot
of my friends board games as presents, so sue me) to get my order to $100 (for
free shipping). Well, CoolStuffInc had just a sale on Kingdom Rush just this
last week for like $35 or so. Tom Vasel liked it enough ( see video here) and
the made it their number 8 cooperative board game of the year for 2020! Fast
forward: Kingdom Rush delivered to its Kickstarter backers in late 2020
(November? December?) and a number of reviewers seemed to give it a good review.
So I ended up passing on the Kickstarter … I didn’t back it all. There were so
many goals and expansions it seemed like backing it would just be so expensive
for a game I knew nothing about (and it didn’t really grab me). I hemmed and
hawed about picking up this cooperative tower defense game, but in the end, I
didn’t back it. Kingdom Rush came onto Kickstarter some time ago. Jéssica on A

JOPLIN MISSOURI TORNADO

The EF5 tornado was powerful enough to wrap this heavy-duty hauling vehicle
around a tree. In the photo below, a truck's back end was essentially shredded
and what was left of it wrapped around a debarked tree. John's Regional Medical

Then came the April 2011 Super Outbreak, when some 350 tornadoes killed over 300
people in the South. It seemed improbable in the era of Doppler radar, the
internet, spotter networks, watches and warnings and news media that a single
tornado could claim over 100 lives in the U.S. Power flashes occurred as the
storm damaged electrical lines and equipment. KSNF-TV's tower camera captured
the wedge tornado as it moved into Joplin. You might think a large, violent
tornado would have an obvious, ominous appearance, like the May 1999
Moore-Oklahoma City or the April 27, 2011, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, tornadoes. Here
are some reflections from meteorologists of that tragic evening.

One of the nation's worst single tornadoes lingers in the memory of
meteorologists who covered it, from those who arrived at the scene to those who
warned the public of the danger. The city will commemorate the anniversary with
an observance Saturday, including a tolling of bells and a minute of silence at
the exact minute the tornado entered the city. One hundred fifty-eight people
lost their lives directly due to the EF5 tornado on May 22, 2011.

Saturday marks the 10-year anniversary of the Joplin tornado, which tore a
six-mile-long and up to a mile-wide path of devastation through the southwest
Missouri city.

GOPRO SESSION 4 MOUNTS

The bolts are there so you can replace it if the worst should happen – a
replacement kit with two lens covers costs £34.99/$39.99. The lens is protected
by a sheet of glass bolted on to the body and we’ve yet to scratch it in the
slightest. GoPro has clad the Session in textured rubber, which makes it both
grippy and tough. The good news is that we’ve dropped the Session half a dozen
times during testing and it’s shrugged off all the bangs and bashes. There’s no
such safety net when you’re holding the Session in your hand, though. This
protects all but the lens area from the worst damage a drop can cause. The mount
covers all the corners and edges of the Session, just like a case on your phone
does. Once inside its mount that’s not too much of a problem. Losing a thick,
tough outer shell does mean the Hero Session is more exposed to the elements,
but also less protected from knocks and drops.

GoPro claims this improves the quality of audio captured and we’re inclined to
agree, but we’ll go into more detail on that later. The small grilles housing
the microphones – one on the front and one on the back – aren’t covered. There’s
another benefit to losing the waterproof case. The GoPro Hero Session compared
to the Hero LCD+ That’s what makes the Hero Session so neat – it’s
water-resistant for up to 10m/33ft without the need for a cover. And let’s face
it, you’ll want your GoPro protected from the wet stuff more often than not. You
can’t do that with any other GoPro.īut how small is it really? It’s just 35mm
each side, which is just half the width, and a little more than half the weight,
of a Hero4 Black in its water-resistant housing.

In fact GoPro’s Senior Producer, Cort Muller, mentioned strapping the Session
between the spokes of a bicycle. That makes a big difference when it comes to
mounting a GoPro in an awkward position. Now that it’s available for as little
as £150 it’s a far more tempting prospect as GoPro’s entry-level action

DWARF FORTRESS STONE USAGE

It can take a long time to clear all the stone from an area, so you may want to
be strategic about which stones you dump and hide the rest.Requires user
oversight when using several temporary dumps.Dwarves will crawl over one another
to get to a 1×1 dump.Anything else you dump will end up on those piles
too.Placing your quantum stockpile near your mason or craftsdwarf workshop
provides a convenient source of raw materials and greatly speeds up
production.Dumping stone, instead of just hiding, doesn't interfere with
stockpiles (unless the dump is on a stockpile).You can use d, b, h to hide all
the stone in a dump quickly.Conceivably, every single stone and ore in the
fortress can fit on 1 tile. No matter how many stones you mark for dumping, they
will all be placed on the same tiny garbage tile.Macros may come in handy when
employing this method.) (If you want to only use specific stones, you must press
k, find the pile, and press f on every stone you want on the list, using +/ - to
navigate through the list. Every dumped stone will be marked as " forbidden."
Use the stocks menu to globally un-forbid types of stone, or use the designation
'Reclaim Items' ( d- b- c) to reclaim the entire pile.A dwarf with
refuse-hauling enabled will take the stone to the garbage dump.Be careful when
you mark areas containing cave spider silk for dumping, as dwarves will actually
come along and destroy the webs! However, macros do not discriminate between
stones and other items, so it is best to use them right after you dig out a new
area. You could also use a dumping macro to designate large amounts of stones at
once. You can also use d, b, d to designate mass items for dumping.
Alternatively, use the stocks menu (faster for mass dumping, but requires some
bookkeeper labor first). Press d, and the stone will be marked for dumping. Make
a zone of 1×1 or 1×2 tiles, preferably either near the stones you want to get
rid of or your stone-needy workshops, and mark it as a garbage dump.However,
some view it as an exploit, and it may not be allowed in future versions.
Additionally, some players find these stones unsightly, ruining the aesthetic
appeal of their fortresses.

This can make finding specific items more difficult, and occasionally result in
overlooked rotten items producing miasma that disgusts dwarves. Loose stones can
also "hide" other content on a tile (since the game displays only a single item
per tile). Loose stones located in a designated stockpile can prevent the use of
the occupied tile until the stone is removed, effectively shrinking your
stockpile. However, stones that are forbidden, already associated with another
task, or placed upon the construction site after the designation will cause the
construction to be suspended. When placing a building, any loose stones will
normally be moved outside of the building tiles by the constructing dwarf. Loose
stones can interfere with regular operation of your fortress, particularly with
buildings and stockpiles.
