Lunch is Monday till Friday 12-13:30 and dinner is Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 19:00-21:00. SOCIAL EVENT Excursion to Lake Chiemsee – The Bavarian Sea We have organized a social trip to the so-called Bavarian Sea, Lake Chiemsee, on Wednesday, June 14. The buses leave from Seeon Abbey at 14:30 and take us to the boat dock in Seebruck. Included is a one-hour boat trip on the lake to the island Herreninsel – The King’s Island – where the famous Herrenchiemsee New Palace is located. This castle was built by the Bavarian ‘Märchenkönig’ – Fairy Tale King – Ludwig II in the time between 1878 and his death in 1886 and was intended as a monument to express his admiration for King Louis XIV of France. Unfortunately, the Bavarian monarch died under obscure circumstances before his new palace was completed. Nevertheless, we will participate in an exclusive guided tour of the palace, which was planned to be even greater and more magnificent than Palace of Versailles. taken from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herrenchiemsee Finally, we let the trip end with a special dinner with a scenic view across Lake Chiemsee to the snowcapped Alps. Dinner is planned to start around 19:00 in Schlosswirtschaft Herrenchiemsee. www.schlosswirtschaft-herrenchiemsee.de. After dinner, a boat taxi takes us from Herreninsel to the nearby town Gstadt from where buses take us back to the abbey. VENUE SEEON ABBEY The workshop will take place in Seeon Abbey (Kloster Seeon in German), a more than 1000 year old, beautifully restored monastery on an island in a picturesque lake. There is plenty of space for sitting outside, both in the courtyard and directly at the lake. A small beach with lawn and deck-chairs is available. You may discover the surroundings by a walk or a run around the lake, go swimming and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Alpine foothills. You may rent bikes for exploring the natural beauty of the Chiemgau area. We will organize a soccer match. There is a tiny fitness room, a sauna and a bowling alley. In the evening you can meet for a local beer in the abbey’s Klosterstüberl with its typical Bavarian atmosphere. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HOW TO GET THERE From Munich Bad Endorf is a city 20km from Seeon-Seebruck to which roughly every hour a train departs from Munich's main train station; train takes more or less one hour, and the latest leaves at 23:50.
