This session will focus on providing participants with insights into the tools,

health through occupational health surveillance.

    techniques used for monitoring workplace health, including medical
    surveillance (e.g., health screenings, medical examinations), exposure

TRAINING SESSIONS

T1 Fire Safety

This course is designed to educate on the proper use of fire extinguishers and
highlight simple safety tips that will help in the prevention of fires at work
and at home.

T2 Environment sustainability

This training course on environment sustainability is vital because it covers:

 1. Climate Change

Understanding these topics helps individuals and organizations tackle pressing

T3 Heat Stress Awareness

This training prepares participants with the knowledge and skills needed to
prevent, recognize, and respond to heat stress effectively, promoting a safer
and healthier work environment.

 2. List the preventive measures for heat stress.
 3. Identify symptoms of heat stress and take appropriate first aid measures.

KHALID SALEM AL ALI

Head of Standards Section (Director of OSHJ system), Sharjah Prevention and
Safety Authority (SPSA), Sharjah, UAE

Khalid Salem Al Ali is an Occupational Health and Safety Engineer with a
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master's degree in Engineering
Systems Management, and a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety.
Additionally, he has certifications in ISO 45001, PMP, and NEBOSH.

Currently, he leads the Occupational Safety and Health Standards section at
Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority, where he focuses on developing
policies, monitoring compliance, and evaluating system performance.

Khalid Salem Al Ali collaborates with the Sharjah Police on accident
investigations and awareness campaigns. He also serves as the Vice President of
the Youth Council at SPSA.

AISHA ALSOUQI

Education Manager, BEEAH

Aisha Alsouqi is an Education Manager at BEEAH, working towards motivating and
empowering learners to shape a sustainable future by acquiring knowledge and
skills while fostering values towards positive climate action.

Most recently, she was one of the UAE ambassadors at COP28. Prior to joining
BEEAH, she was the Head of Green Development at the Ministry of Climate Change &
Environment, where she developed several national policies such as the UAE
circular economy policy, the UAE General Environmental Policy and the updated
UAE Green Agenda post Covid-19. She was also part of the team that developed the
2nd and 3rd reports on the UAE's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) and
the regional report on knowledge for youth-led climate action in the Arab
Region.

Aisha represented the UAE in various regional and international platforms
including COP28, the GGC Ministers of Environment meetings, the Global Green
Growth Assembly, IRENA and the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA).

She continues to seek out opportunities to support the UAE's journey towards a
sustainable future.

DR. KHADIJA ISMAIL AL ZAROUNI

Head of Family Medicine and Aviation Medicine Departments, University Hospital
Sharjah (UHS), Head (member) of Medical Committee, Sharjah Health Authority
(SHA), Sharjah, U.A.E

Dr. Khadija Ismail Al Zarouni is a licensed physician endorsed by the Ministry
of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Sharjah Health Authority (SHA) as a
Consultant in Family Medicine. Additionally, she holds designations as an
Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) certified by the General Civil Aviation
Authority (GCAA, UAE) and a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME)
accredited by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA, Australia).

Dr. Zarouni obtained her MBBS degree from the University of Sharjah (UOS)
College of Medicine. She also holds Master's qualifications in the Science of
Leadership in Health Education and a Master's degree in Diabetes Management,
both from the University of Sharjah (UOS) College of Medicine. Moreover, she is
a Board-certified Family Medicine Specialist by the Arab Board.

Currently, she has completed Continuous Professional Development (CPD) in
Occupational Medicine at Manchester University and is expected to complete
higher education studies in the Diploma of Occupational Medicine.

Ossai is a highly experienced and renowned expert in the oil and gas industry,
with over 34 years of experience in upstream and complex downstream operations.

He has an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and an
MSc in Safety, Risk, and Reliability Engineering from Heriot-Watt University,
Edinburgh, UK. His academic background perfectly complements his extensive
practical knowledge.

Ossai is a professional member of the American society of Safety Professionals.
He is well-known for his expertise in Process Safety, which he has honed through
senior HSE leadership roles at Chevron. Currently, he is the CEO of Noragreen
HSE Consult in California, USA, where he provides invaluable HSE support to
firms looking to improve their process safety practices across international
locations.

Saeed Alshamsi is an expert in environmental compliance with more than five
years of experience in the field. He has conducted field studies, collaborated

DR. WADDAH S. GHANEM AL HASHMI

FIIRSM, Chartered Director

Chairman of the UAE National/Federal Committee for Occupational Health and
Safety

Dr. Waddah is a leading authority in Environment/Sustainability, Health and
Safety, Governance and Leadership, and High Reliability Organizations (HROs). He
holds a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering from the UK and has extensive
academic achievements, including an MSc in Environmental Sciences, an Executive
MBA, and a Doctorate in Governance and Leadership from the University of
Bradford.

His distinguished career includes receiving accolades such as the Rashid Prize
for Scholarship Excellence in 2007 (Dubai) and the IEMA Sustainability Leader of
the Year (UK) award in 2019. Dr Waddah serves as Honorary Chairman for the
Energy Institute Middle East and Vice-Chairman of the Oil Companies
International Marine Forum (OCIMF). He holds key positions in various committees
and is a respected advisor in occupational health and safety which includes
International Standards Organization (ISO) Technical Committee 283, Chairman of
the UAE National Committee for Occupational Health and Safety, as well as
Chairman of the UAE Chapter Advisory Committee of the BDI-GCC.

Dr Waddah's contributions extend to academia, with numerous publications and
lectures at universities worldwide. He is known for his expertise in
sustainability, reflected in his leadership roles and extensive publications,
including eleven internationally recognized books.

Rawad is the Sustainability & Energy Transition Lead at Sharjah National Oil
Corporation (SNOC), overseeing Process Engineering & Process Safety. With a
Chemical Engineering Degree from UAE University and a Master’s in business
management from Strathclyde University, she brings over 13 years of experience
in the gas energy sector.

Her expertise spans operations, optimization, and strategic project advising. At
SNOC, Rawad drives initiatives for net zero emissions, deploying technological
solutions and leading educational campaigns for diverse stakeholders. She also
contributes to the UAE GHG monitoring efforts and represents SNOC in Oil and Gas
decarbonization Charter.

Masoud Al Hamadi currently serves as the Executive Director of Upstream at
Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) and has over 17 years of experience in
the exploration and production (E&P) sector. He has earned a BSc in Petroleum
Engineering from the U.A.E. University and a Master’s degree in Petroleum
Engineering from Herriot Watt University. In 2013, he completed the Sharjah
Leadership Program at AUS.

In his current role, Masoud Leads CCS Project and actively support Energy
transition in SNOC. He has also participated in various Net Zero and Energy
Transition programs, such as ADIPEC 2023 and the Energy Forum in Fujairah. To
enhance his sustainability leadership skills, he is pursuing an Executive
program for Energy Leaders from the University of Texas.

Dr. Hashem Stietiya is the Director of Research & Development at BEEAH
Environment Services, bringing over 22 years of experience in environmental
consulting and academia. He is passionate about minimizing environmental
pollution and improving quality of life. Dr. Stietiya specializes in waste
management consulting, environmental contaminant management, emissions
monitoring, soil remediation, and groundwater vulnerability assessments. He has
worked in the Middle East and North Africa, leading projects and implementing
health, safety, and environmental regulations.

As a published researcher with a PhD in Environmental Soil Chemistry from
Louisiana State University, Dr. Stietiya contributes to scientific understanding
and tailors innovative, sustainable solutions to meet client needs. He has
received recognition for his research, including the 'Distinguished Researchers
Award' from The University of Jordan in 2012. With a background in leadership
roles and technical positions at environmental consultancies, Dr. Stietiya has
led teams executing environmental and sustainability projects across the region.
