To ease the housing crisis, the B.C. Government’s new housing plan aims to speed
up the delivery of new homes and increase much needed middle-income housing
supply. Two key strategies to bring more homes to the community are to
streamline the permit process for quicker building approvals and to make changes
to zoning regulations to allow the building of more multi-unit housing. LIDA
Developments is working closely with municipalities to create housing that
aligns with community goals.

density housing in the area proposed for our project to accommodate the growing
population and need for more housing. The objective of their growth plan is to
“strategically focus this growth in a way that leverages new residents, new
housing, and new jobs to help achieve community-wide aspirations for mobility,
environmental protection, quality of life, and more. The plan is to create
conditions in which residents are in close proximity to amenities and services,
thus are more likely to choose to walk or cycle to these destinations”. Tamarack
Landing fits into the municipality’s long-term vision particularly in this area.
