When the screen gets to black, the fans stop yet the gpu gets hot like it would
when gaming with the fans turned off. I thought the resolution was too large for
my screen, but I have a 1080p monitor so I doubt? And usually the screen would
tell me instead of just staying black. I read somewhere MSI afterburner was the
problem, since I was slightly overclocking the Sapphire and it opens on startup,
but I uninstalled it and still the same result. I installed drivers from AMD's
website and from Device manager, where it just automatically downloads a driver,
same result. As soon as the drivers are installed, it just goes black. I tried
running the gpu on a separate PSU from the pc, still the same result. I thought
power consumption was to blame, although I have a 750W PSU and have had two
Sapphire R9 380's running in Crossfire before. So literally the instant the
drivers are installed. It was at that point where the screen usually switches
off, then it comes back on with the proper resolution when you install display
drivers. But as soon as I downloaded the drivers and installed it, black screen
again. I uninstalled the Sapphire's drivers with it still in (so I can actually
see), turned off the pc, popped in the MSI and interestingly it displayed. I
tried plugging the MSI into the motherboard directly, still nothing.Īt this
point I was getting frustrated and started trying all sorts of crap. I thought
it might be that it's not getting enough power.

I have a vertical GPU setup using a Corsair riser cable.

But my monitor doesn't turn off, it just displays black, so that tells me
there's still something there.Īnyways I have a Sapphire R9 380 (perfectly
working) currently in my case and I assumed the same drivers would work so I
could just pop in the MSI. Like the title says, after I install the drivers the
screen goes black.

COMODO FIREWALL SETUP

We are talking of a Windows11 computer here and i reasoned out that ,in spite of
comodo not officially recommending it for 11, the latter was in my opinion just
a refurbished 10 with some more telemetry,so why not try CF in it?

So i went back after 2/3 years to the only firewall which was simple and
granular enough to exclude communication via IP or MAC with other devices on the
LAN, that is COMODO. I’d love to have both of these programs running on that
Windows 7 machine.I hope Easter will let us know how CF behaves,in the meantime
my recent experience: granted that in my two decades dealing with firewalls
(even the most diifficult one which was the first Jetico,which i only understood
with STEM help) I never encountered difficulties making rules, I had to ditch
WFC (no mistake,I like it) because i wasnt able to make one and nobody offered
help. I believe I have any overlapping features turned off on both programs as I
turn most of the features off on the programs and am just using the main A/V in
Kaspersky and the basic firewall in Comodo. I’ve tried installing the latest
versions of both Kaspersky and Comodo on a freshly installed Windows 7 OS with
these results. So while Kaspersky A/V works on both Windows 7 and 10, they don’t
run on both systems equally well.

I need to continue to run Windows 7 for a couple more years on this particular
computer so unfortunately I can’t just upgrade it to Windows 10 for a quick fix.

On Windows 10 Kaspersky and Comodo seem to coexist together OK. If Comodo is
turned off/paused it still causes a crash, it needs to be uninstalled
completely. After some testing it appears this happens with both Kaspersky A/V
paid and free versions on Windows 7 if Comodo Firewall is installed. Kaspersky
can be restarted but will crash again a few minutes later. I noticed a while ago
that on Windows 7 Kaspersky crashes a few minutes after the computer is on if
Comodo Firewall is installed. I’ve been using Kaspersky A/V paid version with
Comodo Firewall for years on Windows 7 and 10 computers.
