Here's what we learned:
_
 * The email uses Rochester Regional Health’s logo, but the content and the
sender’s domain do not align with the organization's legitimate
   communications.
 * The sender’s email address <rewards@corp-internal.com> is a generic
   unknown domain name.
 * The subject "Thank you gift card!" is designed to grab your attention and
entice you to  take action quickly, a common tactic in phishing.
 * The banner stating the email is not from Rochester Regional Health’s email
system and is from an outside source is a clear indicator of a potential
   phishing attempt.
 * The email asks to log in to a rewards portal, which is a common phishing
   tactic to harvest login credentials.
 * The email claims to be from "Rochester Regional Health System and Company
Rewards™," but the sender address and domain do not match either
   organization.

TIPS FOR STAYING SAFE:

 * Legitimate companies will never ask you to confirm your personal information
   or username/password in email.
 * Phishing emails frequently contain spelling and grammar mistakes.
 * Verify that the sender's email address matches the official domain of the
   company they claim to represent.
 * Be skeptical of offers that seem unusually generous or unbelievable.
 * Be cautious of unsolicited emails, especially those from unknown senders.
 * Avoid opening unexpected attachments or downloading files from unknown
   sources.
 * Never click on links in emails until you confirm the sender is authentic.
 * Be suspicious of file attachments with a generic or impersonal message.
 * One of the most effective ways to stay safe is to hover your mouse over links
in the message to see if you recognize them.
 * If you are on an iPhone, tap and hold on a link to view the destination site.
