NCLTL         Spring Meeting & Luncheon             Thanks to all who were able
to join us for our spring meeting at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Club.  We had
an outstanding turnout with approximately 140+ attendees, tremendous speakers,
great fellowship, and some tasty food too!         Our subject matter experts
provide timely and relevant content to help us with managing our businesses in
the Logistics and Supply Chain segments and certainly provided “value” to our
attendees.        Lindsay Bur, a Senior Economic Analyst with the American
Trucking Association, ATA, provided a timely and accurate update of the current
economic climate with factual data and graphs to support it.  She was
outstanding and it was very clear that she knows her material very well. 
Lindsay thoroughly reviewed current data on Real GDP, Earnings, Credit Card
Debt, Housing Data, Consumption, Mortgages,
Inventories, Factory Output, Purchasing Managers Index, Interest Rates, Fuel,
Truckload and LTL data, and much more.  It was simply very well done.  Real
Numbers for real decisions in our complicated logistics environments.      
Christopher Guarnizo, with Verisk/CargoNet, shared his vast experience exceeding
20 years in law enforcement and cargo theft investigation.  His presentation was
titled “Combatting Cargo Theft and Supply Chain Fraud Through Collaboration,
Analytics, and Information Sharing.  It was fascinating to take a deeper dive
into all the items at play, every day, in our logistics and supply chain world. 
It seems the bad guys never sleep and are always looking for an opportunity,
24/7.        CargoNet and VERISK have a vast network of data which is updated
live every day.  It's very clear that they get information “real time” and can
stop theft as well as illicit activity in its tracks, and often, in the act. 
Their network is building a communications block with staff, customers, and
business partners to prevent it.           "Great to see such camaraderie among
the members of NCLTL too – clearly it’s a group that values the fellowship."
