WELCOME TO FOOD/NUTRITION SERVICES! Welcome Back Students and Staff 2021-2022 Mayfield Food Service remains focused on feeding kids, taking care of our staff, and supporting the Mayfield community. We recognize that the mealtime experience at each school may look different this year. As your students return to school please know that Mayfield Schools is committed to feeding the students in the safest way possible. Mayfield Food Service will support all scenarios and solutions designed to meet the needs of the changing school environment. Mayfield Food Service is committed to promoting and providing our students with appealing and nutritious food choices. In addition to the lunch, snacks offered are low in fat and provide valuable nutrients (Vit C, Calcium,Iron, Fiber). Mayfield Food Service will continue to strive to meet our students’ needs, as well as encourage a healthy lifestyle. Good nutrition and learning go hand in hand. Free Meals for All Students in 2021-22 The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced that officials are extending the waiver to allow free meals to be available to all children throughout the 2021-22 school year. USDA officials say they are committed to ensuring all students have access to nutritious food as the United States recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic. The amended waiver now extends through June 30, 2022. Meals, foods and beverages sold or served at schools meet state and federal requirements which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines.
