CUSTOMER SERVICE

WPC customer service representatives assist the public with sewer-related
concerns and they interpret and explain services. Customer service
representatives also distribute permits and are liaisons between the public and
WPC specialized units, such as Engineering inspectors and sewer maintenance
crews.

CURRENT PROJECTS


EAST 185TH STREET & MARCELLA ROAD RELIEF

Install about 5,200 feet of 48-inch diameter relief sewer along East 185th
Street and Marcella Road to accept excess flow from the existing sanitary sewer
during wet weather events. The construction will help reduce street and basement
flooding. $15 million project.





EAST 85TH STREET & CHESTER AVENUE

Replace about 500 feet of combined main sewer on East 85 Street and about 900
feet of combined main sewer on Chester Parkway. $3.6 million project.

Date Started: 07/06/2020
Projected Completion Date: 01/20/2021


DOWNTOWN CLEVELAND

Rehabilitate the main sewers within Downtown Cleveland. The Cuyahoga River,
Lakeside Avenue, East 9th Street and Huron Road border the area.

STORMWATER MANAGEMENT

Water Pollution Control (WPC) is the stormwater manager for the City of
Cleveland and is responsible for overseeing matters relating to the elimination,
control and regulation of water pollution within the city limits. WPC controls
water pollution with a series of proactive measures, including sewer maintenance
operations, capital improvement projects, enforcement of discharge regulations
and public education.
