Other States/UT ABOUT US The history of Civil Registration System (CRS) in India dates back to the middle of the 19th century. In 1886, a Central Births, Deaths, and Marriages Registration Act was promulgated to provide for voluntary registration throughout British India. Post-independence, the Registration of Births and Deaths Act (RBD Act) was enacted in 1969 to promote uniformity and comparability in the registration of Births and Deaths across the country and compilation of vital statistics based thereon. With the enactment of the Act, registration of births, deaths, and stillbirths has become mandatory in India. 2024 -- BIRTH -- DEATH TODAY -- BIRTH -- DEATH LATEST UPDATES Extension of period for insertion of name in Birth Record Click Here Advisory regarding registration of births and deaths Click Here Advisory regarding registration of births and deaths Click Here India to host summit in New Delhi Click Here Deletion of names of Dead Elector from Electoral Roll Click Here Inclusion of details of widow in death record of her husband Click Here Monitoring Vital Rates Click Here Utility of birth and death certificates-reg Click Here Linking of Birth and Death Certificates with other services Click Here To improve the reporting of registration of Death Click Here Clarification on Infant Deaths and Maternal Deaths Click Here Correction of errors in Birth and Death Registers Click Here Monitoring Sex Ratio at Birth Action to be taken Click Here -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * * * * * * * Website Policy * Mobile App Privacy Policy * Terms & Conditions * Accessibility Statement * Web Information Manager * Feedback * Sitemap * Contact Us * Vacancies * Product & Services * Pricing * Cancellation Policy * Grievance Management Policy Last Updated: 30-01-2024 12:16:17 Website Developed & Maintained by Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India © 2024 -The Registrar General & Census Commissioner, India -
