DESCRIPTION

This course discusses the use of mainframe data sets and database files to store
organizational data and examines the batch and online methods used to process
that data.


AUDIENCE

This course is designed for people interested in a career in z/OS application or
system programming, that require a broad knowledge of mainframe processing
capabilities.


PREREQUISITES

Successful completion of the Interskill IBM (z/OS) – The Evolving Mainframe
course, or equivalent knowledge.


OBJECTIVES

After completing this course, the student will be able to:

 * List the attributes of z/OS data sets
 * Describe characteristics of IMS and Db2 databases
 * Explain the differences between the CICS, IMS, and IBM MQ transaction systems
 * Describe the software and the processes used in batch processing
