IMMIGRATION UPDATE: CORONAVIRUS

The spread of the coronavirus has caused entry and exit bans, quarantines and
travel restrictions throughout the world. Check this page for up-to-date
information on this fluid situation.

The COVID-19 pandemic is having an unprecedented impact on immigration policies
and processes worldwide. In order to contain the spread of the virus, dozens of
jurisdictions implement new measures or change existing ones daily.
 1. 1. 1. Travel restrictions. Although wide-ranging entry restrictions have
been steadily decreasing, most countries still have partial bans for
some foreign nationals (sometimes excluding residents of the
destination country) based on particular outbreaks.
       2. Quarantine requirements. There are still many varied upon-entry
quarantine requirements across the world. In some countries, proof of
negative COVID-19 test results, vaccination and/or health certificate
rules have started to replace strict quarantine requirements.
       3. Health assessments. Additionally, on-arrival health questionnaires and
health assessments have become common pre-boarding requirements for
          international flights.

Fragomen continues to closely monitor these developments. Our COVID-19 Pandemic
- Immigration Situation Overview summarizes the restrictions, requirements and
concessions currently in place in over 150 jurisdictions.

On February 10, 2022, we made updates to information for: China (Mainland),
Ecuador, Germany, Greece, India, Iraq, Oman, Sao Tome and Principe, Thailand,
Tunisia, and Uruguay.

IMPORTANT NOTE

The COVID-19 pandemic is a rapidly changing event, and this summary and our
Situation Overview are for reference only. It does not attempt to cover a number
of other developments that are relevant to travelers, such as airline route
cancellations, the closing of consular posts, and national travel advisories.
Individuals considering travel should consult their country’s consular posts and
seek case-specific advice from their travel and /or immigration providers.
Likewise, employers considering changes to work arrangements or staffing changes
should consult with their labor counsel and/or immigration provider for specific
guidance.
