THEO WALCOTT SAYS ONE COACH COULD BE A PERFECT REPLACEMENT FOR PEP GUARDIOLA AT
MAN CITY

Theo Walcott has named the one coach who would be a great replacement for Pep
Guardiola at Manchester City one day.

With Pep Guardiola’s contract at the Etihad Stadium set to run out in 2025,
unless there is any clarity about his future, the club might have to speed up
the process of scouring successors to his throne.



However, much like the case was after Sir Alex Ferguson’s exit at Manchester
United or Arsene Wenger’s at Arsenal, finding the perfect replacement for the
Catalan will be a very challenging task.

WALCOTT VOUCHES FOR ONE COACH TO REPLACE GUARDIOLA AT MAN CITY

Not just Manchester City supporters but fans and pundits across the world are
accustomed to a certain standard from the club since Guardiola’s appointment.

The £378,846-a-week manager has normalised success at City to such an extent
that it will be a tall order for any replacement to join the club after he
leaves.

But the Sky Blues will have to make the right decision or risk regressing to a
massive degree for a few seasons.

Theo Walcott has vouched for his former Arsenal teammate and Como assistant
manager Cesc Fabregas to succeed Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.

On BBC 5 Live Sport’s The Monday Night Club, Walcott said: “He started off his
young career at 16, maybe younger and now he’s developing his new career which
is only going to improve and hopefully, we see him in the Premier League because
he’d be brilliant and yeah, he could be a good replacement for Pep Guardiola for
Man City at some point, we’ll see.”


CESC FABREGAS WOULD BE A SURPRISING PICK

Perhaps Cesc Fabregas goes on to become a top manager one day and the case made
by Theo Walcott for him to replace Pep Guardiola at Manchester City starts to
make more sense.



But currently, the 37-year-old has only managed at senior level for around a
month before being Como’s assistant manager, with Osian Roberts being the club’s
first-team boss.

As a result, Fabregas lacks the managerial experience required at the top level
to take over the reins at an elite club.

If Manchester City were to listen to Theo Walcott and hire Cesc Fabregas to
replace Pep Guardiola, they would be taking a huge risk.
