Additionally, the HMASIs review the dangerous goods training requirements found in 14 CFR Parts 121 and 135. Air carriers in the U.S. cannot carry dangerous goods as cargo until they have an FAA-approved dangerous goods training program and operations specification (A055). The FAA Principal Operations Inspector (POI) assigned to the carrier coordinates and collaborates with Hazardous Materials Principal Inspectors (HMPIs) for this approval.
