WELCOME TO WILLOWBANK PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our school vision of:

DISCOVER, DEVELOP, NURTURE

encapsulates the essence of Willowbank Primary school, a leading primary school
located in the vibrant communities of Dannemora and East Tamaki Heights in South
East Auckland.

As a large, multicultural school, Willowbank caters to the diverse learning
needs of children ages 5 to 11years (Year 0 – Year 6). Embracing the rich
tapestry of cultures that make up our community, we cherish the uniqueness each
child brings, recognising that our diversity is a treasure to be celebrated.

Rooted in the bicultural foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand, we honour our
obligations to Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Our school vision is not a just a
statement; it’s a commitment to ensuring every child feels welcomed, valued and
actively involved in their learning journey.

At Willowbank, the metaphor of the Willowbank learning pit reflects our
dedication to fostering a growth mindset. We understand that each child is
distinctive, possessing their own cultural background and strengths. Our mission
is to ignite and excite children in their learning while providing a safe and
supportive environment. Here, our children know WHAT they are learning, WHY they
are learning it and what they can do to IMPROVE their learning. For children to
reach their full potential, a partnership between parents and teachers is
crucial. Together, we create an environment where students and staff feel valued
and supported.

The Willowbank Way is our guiding principle, steering us towards the common goal
of inspiring our children to achieve their potential and their dreams. Our
devoted staff and Board of Trustees are committed to delivering high quality
education that recognises and responds to individual potential, needs and
abilities.

To all visitors, we extend a warm welcome. We trust that as you navigate through
our website, you will sense the special place Willowbank School holds for our
students, staff and families. Join us on this exciting educational journey,
where the spirit of DISCOVERING the potential, DEVELOPING the learning and
NURTURING relationships thrives!
