What is Virgin Grade PTFE?

Virgin grade PTFE is 100% pure material directly from the resin producer that
has never been processed into a shape. Virgin PTFE has the highest physical and
electrical insulation properties and the whitest color compared to mechanical
grade. In compounded formulations, Virgin PTFE is used almost exclusively.

IS TEFLON A GLASS?

The structural element is a cloth woven from very fine glass filaments. The
coating, based on Teflon, was developed by DuPont in the 1960’s and has been
used on structures since the early 1970’s. PTFE glass is a low maintenance
fabric which is perfect for large complex structures.

What do the different colors of Teflon tape mean?

Thread tape comes in different colors for different uses. White tape is single
density and intended for water pipes of 3/8 of an inch or less. Yellow tape is
double density, and designed for gas and fuel lines. Green tape is grease and
oil free, and designed for pipes carrying oxygen.

Virgin poly pellets are brand new pellets – never been used before. Regrind
pellets are made from melting down used poly and then made into pellets. This
used poly can come from many different places and things such as plastic
bottles, old tarps, plastic bags, etc.

Description. CT-404 is a Black non-stick PTFE coating on aluminum, steel,
stainless steel, and other metallic substrates to provide good chemical and
corrosion resistance.

Is FEP Teflon?

Fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP) shares some of the same non-stick qualities
of Teflon though its structure is slightly different. FEP is softer and
therefore melts at a lower temperature than PTFE. This means it is less commonly
used in cooking and baking.


IS TEFLON UV RESISTANT?

Teflon is not affected by ultraviolet and is resistant to oxidation,
discoloration, and embrittlement. Teflon is completely resistant to hydrolysis.
Teflon is a good barrier for water permeation. Its typical properties and
dimensional stability remain unchanged even after long periods of time in water.

trademark of DuPont), is a synthetic, nontoxic, fluorocarbon-based polymer that

temperatures.
