We’ll hike through boreal forests, take in breathtaking vistas above the tree line, and eventually settle into a cozy Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) hut each night to recount our adventures under the stars. Each night, we’ll hear from one of AMC’s regional experts on topics such as the forest ecosystem, climate research in the national forest, and more. Your four days of hiking will be a fulfilling challenge and energize philanthropic action for public lands, conservation, and climate awareness. This adventure is done in partnership with our friends at Appalachian Mountain Club – a Climate Ride Beneficiary Partner. AMC’s mission is to foster the protection, enjoyment, and understanding of the outdoors. The rise in outdoor recreation paired with the ongoing crisis of climate change highlights the importance of AMC’s conservation research and advocacy work across the region. Understanding how climate change is affecting our region keeps AMC’s team of scientists busy as they study the air, waters, forests, and fields throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. Their findings provide science-supported action items, allowing AMC to lead by example. Climate Ride is the definition of pedaling with purpose! Shannan Zister-Kasper Glacier National Park Ride Climate Ride exceeded all of our expectations for our family. Everything from the trip guides and pre-trip emails to the logistics of the ride was thoroughly planned. It checked all of our boxes- raising money and awareness for National Parks, promoted physical challenges with the bike rides and spent the day surrounded by incredible nature. Jack Rosamilia Glacier Ride Climate Ride bridges together advocacy, adventure and DIY in the best possible way. You get to experience the world’s most breathtaking landscapes and all you have to think about is getting from point A to point B because Climate Ride takes care of the rest. Having done larger organized rides, this smaller sized group makes its far easier to connect with others. I left feeling empowered and hungry for more adventure. I can’t wait to do another! 10/10 recommend. Natasja Van Goethem Slovenia Ride Climate Ride deserves an award or a medal or at the very least a hearty bike gloved high five for how life and world changing, committed, encouraging, highly efficient and guaranteed-to-make-you-come-back-for-more they are! Paul Falo Death Valley National Park Joining Climate Ride Death Valley was more than I could have hoped for. I was doing it initially to get involved with efforts to support the fight against climate change but what I came out with was not only this, but a great group of new friends and an overall experience riding the beautiful Death Valley that has changed my perspective of riding a bike. I couldn’t stop smiling throughout the whole ride and while this was the toughest experience that I’ve had riding, I had one of the best/most meaningful riding experiences of my life. The supporters that joined me on the ride, the folks that were involved working for Climate Ride, down to the ride support from REI…all made this so special in so many ways. I’m looking forward to my next ride with Climate Ride and I’m hoping to continue/expand the friendships and experiences that I’ve already made. Bill McKibben, Co-Founder 350.org Speaker on Climate Ride, Co-founder 350.org There’s nothing, nothing, nothing that people could be doing that’s more important than what you guys are doing. Alex Levinson Climate Ride Bhutan This was my first Climate Ride, and I was really impressed. Climate Ride is a super lean organization, with a spirited, professional team, and the trip to Bhutan introduced me to many wonderful, like-minded new friends. Stacey Doll Climate Hike White Mountains Hiking the Presidential Traverse on this year’s Climate Hike was one of the best experiences of my life. I thoroughly enjoyed the company of fellow participants, the care and education provided by our guides, and the overall journey across some of the most beautiful terrain on the east coast. And to know all of this was possible because we chose to raise funds and awareness for climate resiliency made it that much more special. Alejandra Alvarez Green Fondo Southern California The Green Fondo SoCal Climate Ride was a life-altering experience for me, someone who picked up bike riding just two years ago. Leading up to this weekend, I was nervous and unsure about what to expect for my first bike tour. Thanks to the support from friends, colleagues, and the Community Leader Award program, I embarked on a challenging fun-filled ride through beautiful Santa Barbara County, a place I am so fortunate to have called home for seven years. I challenged myself to ride the Media route, which took me along some of the most breathtaking scenery- literally! With every labored breath that I took through that nearly 70-mile stretch route, I questioned whether I was insane to be riding a bike this long. However, I mostly looked at the surrounding richly green canyons and felt immense gratitude for the opportunity to experience this place on two wheels. I felt supported by every crew member, rider, and friendly locals, who cheered on as I challenged my body through new extremes. Best of all, I made a ton of new friends with whom I now share such a memorable experience. Thanks, Climate Ride. See you out on the road!
