Traditional efforts to tackle gender-based violence against women have concentrated on empowering women to assert themselves. This approach insulates men from the process of transformation and furthers the gender divide. Men Against Violence and Abuse - MAVA has pioneered efforts in India to engage Boys and Men to address issues of gender inequality and discrimination and help stop prevent gender-based violence against women. NITA CHAKRAVARTY, HEAD TALENT MANAGEMENT Linde MAVA and his energetic team were interactive and participatory using different methods like group-exercises, power-point presentations, open discussions and film-clips. SWATI PONGURLEKAR, MANAGER Larsen and Toubro Limited The participants have indicated that the methods used by both of you like group discussions and slide presentations were very interesting and the information provided on gender related issues have been found to be useful. The three hours went by very smoothly with the three different sections covering the discussion on natural/social constructs, structures of patriarchy and the film. PROF.
