Focused on holistically healing the mind, body, and spirit, Indian head massage uses a combination of typical and traditional movements over the body’s tissues, muscles, scalp, and hair – helping to ground the recipient and encourage a feeling of relaxation, peace and wellbeing throughout the body. The Indian Head Massage Diploma Course will give you a deeper understanding of Indian head massage, relevant anatomy, client consultation, preparation, provision and aftercare of treatment, and health and safety information. Introducing you to Indian head massage, the course shares its origins, development, and benefits, along with introducing you to Ayurveda and the chakras. You need to be aware of the different body structures you’ll work with, so you’ll learn about skin, bones and muscles, along with the blood and lymphatic systems. The course also covers the contraindications to Indian head treatment that therapists must be aware of, the different skin and hair types that you may come across, and postural faults that you should be able to identify in clients. You’ll be guided through the client consultation process and how to set up and prepare for treatment. We’ll learn the movements and techniques of a full Indian head massage and what to discuss with your client after the treatment. The course concludes with a look at how to keep clients and the working environment safe by adhering to health, safety, and hygiene guidelines. Providing practical and theoretical information on the practice and techniques used in Indian head massage, this course provides a foundational level of knowledge so that you may go on to gain practical experience and take on further study. Practising massage therapists and business owners in the relaxation and holistic therapy industries will gain the knowledge required to add Indian head massage to the treatments you offer. Accreditations The Indian Head Massage Diploma Course will take you up to 150 hours to complete, working from home. There is no time limit for completing this course, it can be studied in your own time at your own pace. This is a Level 3 course and will give you 150 CPD (Continued Professional Development) points. Upon completion of your course assessments, you receive 2 certificates. A certificate from the Centre of Excellence and a CPD certificate displaying the number of CPD points earned from the course. This course is registered with the CMA (Complementary Medical Association), which is internationally recognised as the elite force in professional, ethical complementary medicine by professional practitioners, doctors and, increasingly, by the general public. Upon completion of the course you can gain membership to the CMA, which in addition to supplying a professional accreditation, offers a number of benefits, all of which can be found here. This course is endorsed by the Quality Licence Scheme. Therefore, upon successful completion of this course, learners can also receive a certificate of achievement from Quality Licence Scheme and a Learner Unit Summary, which lists the details of all the units the learner has completed as part of the course. (This certificate is optional and costs an additional £25).
