VILLAGE STYLE ACCOMMODATION FOR LOCALS IN NEED

We're transforming private land at 203-205 Bayswater Rd and 15-17 Home St into a
village to support families and individuals facing housing insecurity.



Together, we're creating safe, stable, affordable homes and a generous,
supportive community for locals in need. 



Led by locals and supported by experienced Melbourne charities, this development
will make our neighbourhood a safer, more inclusive, and more welcoming place
for people from all walks of life.

ABOUT THE PROJECT

40 years ago, a group of locals from South Croydon Anglican Church pooled funds
to purchase vacant land in Bayswater North. Together, they hoped to support
people facing housing insecurity.



They formed Emmaus Christian Community Ltd, and built 19 affordable units, a
community park and a playground on Home St. This has been a valuable addition to
the Bayswater North neighbourhood.



However, some land remains vacant.



Backed by four local charities, the 203-205 Bayswater Rd and 15-17 Home St
development is now coming to life. Plans are progressing to create a
village-style community to help more people doing it tough in today's economy.

The mixed tenure development will include four three-bedroom and two two-bedroom
townhouses available for purchase,

and eleven one and two-bedroom units available as long-term rentals. The
development is designed to support people on low incomes and those experiencing
housing insecurity. Complete with community spaces and lots of greenery, the
village will preserve Bayswater North's family-friendly neighbourhood character.
