GONZO

Hunter S. Thompson was a singular force, the mastermind behind “Gonzo”
journalism–a wild, first-person narrative style infused with the writer’s own
bias and experiences. His books and articles were vivid chronicles of his
immersive, often drug-fueled escapades. Though his narratives frequently veered
off the beaten path, they had a knack for uncovering brutal truths and revealing
hidden facets of reality. Thompson’s trailblazing approach left an indelible
mark, inspiring countless others to embark on their own writing journeys.

OWL FARM

Owl Farm, Hunter S. Thompson’s infamous “fortified compound,” sits nestled in
Woody Creek, just outside Aspen, Colorado. Sprawling across 42 acres, the
property is frequented by elk and white-tailed deer. Hunter’s wife, Anita, still
resides in the main house, preserving it as a museum. Inside, a red typewriter
and piles of books and papers remain untouched, as if he just stepped away. His
cherry-red Pontiac Grand Ville still sits proudly on the grounds. Anita has
opened the cabin for short-term rentals, where many of Thompson’s belongings
remain, including another red IBM Selectric typewriter he once hammered out his
wild prose on.

in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud
of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow!

Director, Barbara McDonald, took great inspiration from the legacy of Hunter S.
Thompson to make a bold bourbon with depth in flavors and a storyline all of its
own. Aromas of caramel, toffee, molasses, and brown sugar compliment notes of
leather, and baking spices. On the palate it’s nutty and features flavors of
coffee, toffee, cherry pie and hints of oak, stewed apples, and bitter cacao,
leading to a bold and smooth finish.
