Somerset Lodge is a family-owned three-storey apartment block in the heart of
Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa.  It is adjacent to St Andrews College,
Diocesan School for Girls (DSG), Rhodes University and walking distance to the
central business district and boutique cafe's.

 

Somerset Lodge was initially constructed in the 1960’s and has recently been
completely overhauled and modernised to provide your home away from home and a
place for you and your family to re-connect.  It consists of seven individual
luxury self-catering apartments in various configurations of studio, 1 bedroom,
2 bedroom and 3 bedroom apartments.

 

Somerset Lodge provides the perfect answer to your accommodation requirements
for “Your family’s place of re-connecting – Indawo yokubuyisela kwakhona” on
your visit to Grahamstown when visiting children, on a business or academic
trip.  Ideally situated for National Arts Festival within walking distance of
everywhere.

 

The apartment names hail from persons names that were influential in the area in
the Settler times, with local streets in Grahamstown and Karoo towns named after
them.  The Karoo is “a part of” the owner family.

 

Somerset Lodge apartments have been beautifully revamped into modern
contemporary spaces with combination of porcelain tiled and beautifully
refurbished parquet wooden flooring.  The new aluminium windows with acoustic
glass make the apartments light and bright and minimise street sounds.  Top
quality fittings and finishes have been added with LED downlighting throughout. 
Tastefully decorated with hand-made and modern contemporary furnishings.  The
apartments each have their own Juliet balcony overlooking the Hodgson field and
Webster astro towards Signal Hill and Mountain Drive.
