WE’VE GOT ANSWERS. * WHAT IS BLOOM? Bloom is the next generation of pelvic-health care, and was developed by Sword Health. It addresses women’s pelvic-health disorders. The solution combines a Pelvic Health Specialist, intravaginal biofeedback sensor, a tailored pelvic-exercise program, and insightful resources to improve pelvic-floor health and function. Bloom provides clinical-grade care for pelvic health addressing bladder disorders, bowel dysfunction, pain from sex, bloating, discomfort, and pelvic pain. * WHO IS BLOOM FOR? Bloom is designed for women and individuals with vaginal anatomy age 18 and older. It is a benefit offered by employers and health plans. It addresses pelvic conditions through adulthood, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. * WHAT DOES THE BLOOM SOLUTION CONSIST OF? The Bloom solution consists of the following components: * Pelvic Health Specialists, with advanced training in pelvic health, guide customized care for each member. All Bloom’s Pelvic Health Specialists have Doctor of Physical Therapy Degrees. * The Bloom Pod by Elvie: an intravaginal, medical-grade silicone pod that contains a sensor to share exercise data. * A mobile app, to track real-time exercise and program progress and to access articles and resources. * Tailored Program: Customized exercise sessions and educational articles addressing the member’s specific pelvic-health needs and personal goals. * WHAT IS A PELVIC HEALTH SPECIALIST AND WHAT DO THEY DO? All of Bloom’s Pelvic Health Specialists have Doctor of Physical Therapy Degrees and years of clinical experience focusing specifically on the pelvic floor and pelvic health. Bloom members select a Pelvic Health Specialist to guide them through their Bloom program, and to answer questions along the way. The Pelvic Health Specialist provides an individualized exercise plan to the pelvic-floor and pelvic girdle muscles and educates on anatomy, bladder/bowel habits, pain management strategies, and lifestyle modifications. * HOW DOES THE PROGRAM WORK? Programs are designed by our Pelvic Health Specialists, all of whom have doctors of Physical Therapy degrees. Programs are customized based on your pelvic symptoms. In general, programs are based on 3 sessions a week. Based on your needs, the program may be adjusted by your Pelvic Health Specialist. * HOW MUCH DOES BLOOM COST? Bloom is an employee benefit paid for by employers and health plans. There is no cost to you or your family members and there is no need for a referral from your doctor. There are no out-of-pocket costs. * WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BLOOM AND ON-SITE PELVIC-FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY (PT)? Bloom is more private and convenient than on-site physical therapy. Onsite PT requires patients to travel to and from a clinic, and the travel time investment is one reason some people do not stick with in-person treatment for long. Bloom is a more convenient and private way of addressing pelvic health from the comfort of home or when you are traveling. * WHY DOES BLOOM USE AN INTRAVAGINAL DEVICE? Some women experiencing pelvic-health disorders have difficulties engaging (contracting and lengthening) their pelvic floor muscles. An intravaginal device is needed to accurately determine if the muscles are properly engaged and it provides real-time feedback in the app and to the Pelvic Health Specialist. External sensors do not accurately measure pelvic-floor contracting and lengthening. * WILL MY EMPLOYER KNOW THAT I AM ENROLLED IN BLOOM? No. Bloom is a HIPAA compliant program and all of the details of your program including participation, progress, and personal information are private. Our Pelvic Health Specialists meet with you over HIPAA-compliant channels, and all of your information is confidential. Still have questions?
