Distinguished Teachers — the only system-wide university teaching academy in the
United States — will induct four new faculty members honored for their
commitment to excellence as teachers, mentors and leaders.

University of Texas institutions are among the most innovative in the world and
for the sixth consecutive year have earned a top-five global ranking for most
patents granted from the National Academy of Inventors (NAI).  

UT Regents name Jochen Reiser as sole finalist for president of UT Medical
Branch In Galveston

The University of Texas System Board of Regents has unanimously voted to name
Jochen Reiser, MD, PhD, as sole finalist to become the next president of The
University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Reiser currently serves as
chairman of the department of internal medicine at Rush University Medical
Center and the Ralph C. Brown, MD, Professor of Medicine at Rush University in
Chicago.

community college students at 2023 All-Texas Academic Team Medallion Ceremony

DALLAS, Texas -- Texas’ top community college students today were honored at the
2023 All-Texas Academic Team Medallion Ceremony, hosted by The University of
Texas System and the Texas Association of Community Colleges at The University
of Texas at Dallas.

Gov. Abbott appoints three to UT System Board of Regents

Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Robert Gauntt and reappointed Vice Chairs
Janiece Longoria and James C. "Rad" Weaver to The University of Texas System

UT institutions receive $65.4 million for cancer research from CPRIT

AUSTIN, Texas – The Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT)
last week awarded nine University of Texas institutions 37 grants totaling $65.4
million.

First investment in SFA by UT Board of Regents will provide no-cost tuition for
more than one thousand additional students

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Immediately upon legislative approval of its affiliation
with The University of Texas System, Stephen F. Austin State University will
receive at least $1 million per year in need-based financial aid from the UT
System Board of Regents through the Regents’ Promise Plus endowment.
