Merry so that they can start a new life. After treatment, Dawn seeks a facelift
and starts an affair with a neighbour. The strain of Merry's disappearance
eventually causes Dawn to have a nervous breakdown.

Rita runs off with the money and leaves no further information regarding Merry.
Swede meets Rita in the hotel room, but spurns her mean-spirited attempts to
seduce him. Rita tips off Swede with credible information about Merry, hints
that she knows Merry's whereabouts, then asks him to meet her at a hotel with
$10,000 cash. After Swede unsuccessfully hounds the FBI for information on
Merry's whereabouts, 22-year-old Wharton Business School student Rita Cohen
visits the factory, ostensibly working on a report for business class. Swede and
Dawn visit Penny Hamlin, the wife of the store owner who was killed, to
apologize. Merry disappears, and is the FBI's prime suspect, though Swede and
Dawn believe she is innocent or, if involved, being forced to act by older
radicals she met in New York. A few days later, the town's little post office
and store is destroyed by a bomb, killing the owner. When Merry lashes out
during the 1967 Newark riots, Swede urges her to channel her energy into
protesting against the war from closer to home.

By the time Merry reaches high school, she has become increasingly radicalized
towards Anarchism, as the Vietnam War rages, and frequently goes to New York
City to take part in antiwar protests.

Smart and quirky Merry struggles with a stuttering problem, and is deeply
affected as a 12-year-old by the self-immolation of Thích Quảng Đức in 1963.
They have a daughter, Meredith ("Merry"), and settle in the town of Old Rimrock,
where they acquire a farm, with Swede commuting the 30 miles to the Newark glove
factory. Lou is skeptical because Swede is Jewish and Dawn is a devout Roman
Catholic, but her strength and honesty sways him. The story moves back to a
young Swede persuading his father, glovemaking magnate Lou Levov, to let him
marry his high school sweetheart, New Jersey's 1947 Miss America contestant Dawn
Dwyer. They talk about Jerry's older brother, former all-state star athlete
Seymour "Swede" Levov, class of '44, who recently died after a long illness.

In 1977, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band became the first American band to appear in
the Soviet Union, performing 28 sold-out shows to enthusiastic crowds.

But it was the group’s groundbreaking tour of Russia - which was documented in a
film McEuen’s has been assembling, tentatively titled “Rocking the Kremlin” -
that put the band in the history books. The Dirt Band went on to score 21 hits
on the country charts and a star on the Country Music Walk of Fame in Nashville
- “Next to Hank Williams Sr. Indeed, it was McEuen who came up with the idea to
do the “Circle” album, which still ranks as the primary document tying together
all the strains of true American music. “We were doing it either before they
were, or at the same time, and we actually stuck with it.” “The Byrds and the
Burrito Brothers got into that whole country rock thing for a time, but kind of
gave it up after a few years,” McEuen recalls. She started out that way and
stayed there.”Ĭonsidering what they were able to pull off, it’s surprising that
the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band never really got its due as pioneers in the crossover
to country, and by extension, a forebear of today’s Americana movement. “I told
her, ‘This means 500,000 people bought this album, Maybelle.’ And she said, ‘I
didn’t think that many people liked those songs.’ I thought she was kind of
kidding, but she was just like your neighbor who just happened to play the
guitar. “When I gave her her gold record for the ‘Circle’ album, it turned out
it was the first one she’d ever gotten,” McEuen says. But she reaped a reward of
her own later on in the project. Maybelle Carter agreed to the project simply
because Earl Scruggs asked her to take part. They had worked together, but it
was mainly at the Opry. We had opened the door to their house, it seemed. I
remember Maybelle saying, ‘Roy, I always wanted to make a recording with you.’
Doc was saying, ‘I always wanted to meet you, Merle.’ All that kind of stuff.
“The pressure was taken off of us, because we found out that they were as big a
fans of each other as we were of them. These people recorded for a living,” he
says. “Everybody came in and got down to business. McEuen recalls rehearsals
took a mere five days recording the album took only six more. Both also play the
banjo, and McEuen produced Martin’s Grammy-winning album, “The Crow: New Songs

Add in rocket-assist and you probably got a good approximation of a Space Marine
bolter. In the sense you could also consider bolters an 'overlap' of a range of
weapons - in this case astartes espeically- you could also look at the WW2 Mk
108 and Mk 112 cannon which seem to be a combination of grenade launcher and

They also have some similarities to shotguns and low-caliber grenade launchers
like the Neopup PAW-20 and the XM-25 (high velocity, lower caliber than 40mm
grenades.) Hell the bolt gun ammo looks alot like a grenade launcher projectile
or shotgun shell: Bolters have some similarities to rocket guns like a gyroc,
but they also have differences. Of course, if bolters aren't gyrojets then what
are they? That isn't an easy question to answer, in part because like many 40K
weapons they don't have clear RL parallels. You can also look at the bolt ammo
and it looks different (There *is* a case of sorts, and I'll get to that shortly
when I talk more about what bolters might be.) The basic thing is that gyrojets
might be under the same broad category of bolters in the sense they're both a
kind of rocket gun, but that can encompass alot of other things too that aren't
gyrocs. Bolters are spin-stabilized munitions (so arte gyrocs) but they rely on
the initial velocity of the bullet to provide that. As you can see form the
storm bolter cutaway, it has rifling. Bolters don't have the angled ports of a
gyroc round, nor are they smoothbore like a gyroc. Indeed, the lack of ports
likely mean the bolter would have more recoil than a gyroc initially, but a
higher velocity and better external and terminal performance.īut there are other
differences, too. The most infamous example being Eisenhorn's Deathwtach bolt
pistol from Malleus blasting a 900 kg augmetic witch off of him.) You can
literally use them at point blank range with the muzzle up against the target.
but also give the gyrojet its low starting velocity that mean its close-up
terminal performance and accuracy can suffer (which isn't true of bolt guns.
Those holes in the side are ports that allow the rocket exhaust to vent away.

Its lightweight and made of light materials because it doesn't have to stand up

reasons, while I probably won't cover much in the way of Chaos, Orks, or 'Nids.
Ideally I'll cover a wide range of things but in no apparent order apart from
what I feel like covering. I think of it as a warmup and general off ramp for
musings and other shit that would accompany the calcy shit. One thing I have
wanted to do is more of a generic 'weapons analysis' thread that isn't
necessarily calc focused so much as a 'how weapons work' and a selection of
sources that reflect those claims. Been slowly sorta getting back into 40K
stuff, but given I'm literally 2 editions and the better part of 6 years behind
now it will take time to get up to speed.

The rules for inclusion were that a) the bands had to be specifically death
metal (we love you, Rivers Of Nihil, but you’re your own weird beast), b) the
bands had to be active, c) their first full-length albums had to have come out
in 2010 or later, and d) they had to have at least one full studio LP out
(sorry, Oxalate!). To celebrate this creative resurrection, we cataloged 50
bands who are championing the genre’s various foul and brutal niches right now.
A new wave of crashing, creative, and most of all diverse death metal bands has
crashed onto the scene in recent years, making the genre once more a place to
find unique and insane talent. But like any musical culture, the outlandish
pioneers gave way to bands wanting to sound just like them, and so eventually
death metal became a body of music with discernible and at times cliched
boundaries.īut if the past 10 years have proved anything, it’s that death metal
still has fertile soil in which to dig a shallow grave. When the art form
officially broke off of thrash in the very late ’80s and swelled dangerously in
the early ’90s, it was a strange and experimental genre, in some ways more
resonant with the disgusting extremism of punk than metal’s sword-and-stone
fantasy. Eagles of Death Metal frontman Jesse Hughes has apologized for
suggesting that security guards at a Paris concert venue were complicit in the
assault by Islamic militants there in November that. Before it became the genre
every non-metal fan uses to imitate what extreme music sounds like, death metal
was beautifully weird.

of this genre, the yellow sea, the man from nowhere, and the vengeance trilogy
are better films to watch. Overall it's a average mystery thriller and not

engaging that mafe us feel like we're living the characters lives. It was
disappointing how it gave little to no focus to it but at least the acting of
Sohyun gave clarity of the trauma the character has faced.Īnother positive is
the cinematography and music of the film. The condition of Hye Rin was one of
the only interesting things in the film, and So Hyun barely even got screentime.
Premise is unclear, it wanted to tackle disturbing topics, but didn't want to go
deep, honestly frustrating. I get that it was trying to go for a different
approach but tagging it as a thriller crime it failed miserably, could have
passed as a melodrama. The film would have benefited from a shorter time span,
2hrs was a nightmare. Joo Young Soo also had zero depth, unrootable, and was the
same zzzzz character throughout. The script was so bad that Kim Hyung Min forgot
to act.

The character Choi Byung Chul lacked believability in the psychopath role and
showed no depth throughout that the actor saved it. It was a Reminiscent of Joo
Dan Tae in the Penthouse series.

As I said in the start, Him and So Hyun was the only one's that delivered a good
performance here. Uhm Ki Joon was amazing despite the lacking script, his
villain role was chillingly good. Also recommend watching this blind, because
the trailer's give away too much. Story wasn't anything new and just so so, but
there were lots of elements like guilt and religion but as the movie progresses
it just disappeares for no apparent reason. How easily can your faith and belief
changed? To what lenght are you willing to do to save a love one? What happens
when a crime is forgotten? This is answered in Man of vendetta, which honestly
is a bad title to what it was trying to potray. Political slow burn like
Director Woo Min Ho's later works were much better. It tried to be different but
failed miserably. Speaking of debut's, this is also the director's debut, and it
certainly feels that way because this is not his genre. Ultimately she was
called back and made her debut, this without any acting experience. Dad, did you
continue looking for me? Fun fact, actress Kim So Hyun who played Hye Rin beat
out 499 other aspiring actresses in a 5 round audition to secure this role.
