I am a PhD student in Dr. Nikhil Chopra’s lab at University of Maryland College
Park. I am working towards developing and deploying newer methods in underwater
robot localization, control and navigation using optimization and machine
learning. This research is currently being used in enabling the aquaculture
industry to be smarter and sustainable as a part of the S3AM project.

Previously, I was a research assistant in Robotics Innovation Lab (RIL) at the
Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore working under the guidance of
Prof. Abhra Roy Chowdhury on designing and developing a bio-inspired
heterogeneous multi-robot system for a manufacturing environment.

I finished my undergraduate studies at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)
Madras in July 2020, majoring in Naval Architecture and Ocean Enginnering with a
minor in Robotics. I was advised by Prof. T. Asokan for my thesis focused on
simulating Active multi-robot SLAM in an underwater environemnt using Ant Colony
Optimization(ACO).

I enjoy and involve myself in teaching and mentoring students as a part of my
research activites.

In my past time, I enjoy hiking, photography and video editing. I am big
geography and history geek.
