FIRE BAN
Todays fire rating is Fire Restriction
Current Fire Rating: Fire Restriction
Effective: 1400hrs, Sept. 23, 2022, Cypress County is under a fire restriction
and partial fire ban.
🔥 A fire restriction is in effect for all areas north of Township Road 60 in
Cypress County
🔥 A fire ban is in effect for all areas south of Township Road 60 in Cypress
County
Recreational campfires are allowed in areas with a fire restriction.
Permitted burning in Cypress County is banned due to dry/hot conditions.
❌ The following are NOT allowed:
• Fireworks
✅ The following remain allowed:
• Internal household fireplaces
• Propane or natural gas-fueled appliances
• Wood pellet smokers
⚠️ The following are allowed in areas of fire restriction, but not allowed in
areas of the fire ban:
• Incinerators
• Burning barrels
• Solid fuel barbecues (charcoal)
• Recreational campfires
• Chimeneas
• Fires in designated camping and recreational areas

Any person or persons who willfully sets an open fire or any fire not allowed
under the order may be charged under the Forest and Prairie Protection Act and
Cypress County Bylaw 2020/05.
