IOWA DEMOCRATS SLAM AMERICAN EDUCATION

Everyone agrees that knowledge is the foundation of our lives. In some cases,
however, it can ruin an entire generation. Right now, another education debate
is gaining momentum in the state of Iowa. From a Democratic perspective, modern
schools are missing LGBTQ+ issues. In response, the GOP is trying to protect
minors from social engineering.

“Today, more than ever, our country needs fresh minds. We understand that, and
we want to move forward. At the same time, our job is to separate innovation
from indoctrination. That is why some practices are banned,” said Iowa Governor
Kim Reynolds.

The long-running conflict began about six months ago. In an effort to make
American education safe, local lawmakers passed Senate File 496. According to
the document, teachers have no right to mention provocative topics. For example,
anal sex, transgender transitioning, drag culture, and so on. Not surprisingly,
the progressive minority disagreed.

The undisputed leader of the liberal protest is the American Civil Liberties
Union. In its view, nothing should prevent children from exploring their
genitals and sharing that experience with each other. “With the 14th Amendment
at our side, we are ready to take revenge,” said Thomas Story of the ACLU.

At first glance, this sounds ominous. But no. Under the same constitution, both
governors and legislatures can impose restrictions if they have enough votes. In
the case of SF 496, nearly 60% of Iowans support it. All in all, the process is
legal.

What does that mean for the country as a whole? The more we focus on LGBTQ+
nonsense instead of math or chemistry, the fewer professionals our state gets.
To attract young people from around the world, the U.S. should be promoting
skills and opportunities, not the pride agenda. If we win, brilliant minds will
flourish again. With great benefits, of course.
