My name is Niklas Henricson and this website is dedicated to all of you who share the same admiration and thirst to seek more knowledge within this amazing hobby in astronomy and astrophotography. There are many great achievements made by so called "citizen astronomers". I prefer the term citizen for several reasons. Firstly we're all citizens of the same night sky and live on this very big spaceship we call Earth wandering around a star. Around us there's this vast space of mystery, wonders, and endless discoveries and questions yet to be revealed. And many of those discoveries have already been made by people like ourselves who share the same passion. Citizen astronomers who have comets named after them, who collect data and help scientists with valuable information. Secondly, I prefer the term citizen since no matter where you are, what you do for living and what your background is we're all leave that behind us when we admire the space that's bigger than ourselves. Whether you belong to an astronomy club, or practice this on your own, or don't know how to take your first steps when your budget is restricted... Do not worry, we're in all this together and we'll try to cover many topics here. Astrophotography has the past few years expanded to a whole new level thanks to technology, cheaper hardware in electronics and more reliable optical solutions in telescopes. Welcome to Astroniklas website where I'll do my best to answer your questions and be able to share my knowledge, my failures, and try to guide you best of my ability in this journey that we all have so passionately in common. If you're a student, teacher, parent, etc. and work in a school project, or an astronomy club that wish to make a presentation, feel free to lend my content without any further ado. However individuals and organizations that are bound by commercial, tax and trading laws, you need to ask for my permission if you aim to use your content for your own gain. That is almost going without saying. Apart from my very own work, every generic photo and image that I've used in this website for illustration purposes, is legally licensed to me as an individual.
